ABC's 'Raisin in the Sun' movie draws nearly 13 million viewers

An estimated 12.7 million viewers tuned in to see the U.S. television movie based on Lorraine Hansberry's classic play "A Raisin in the Sun."

Co-starring Sean "Diddy" Combs, Phylicia Rashad, Audra McDonald, Sanaa Lathan and John Stamos, the film debuted Monday night on ABC.

"This has been a life-changing experience for me. I love acting. In order to make movies, I have to be where the movies are being made," Combs said in a statement, explaining that he plans to divide his time between the East and West coasts so he can dedicate more time to his new career.

Combs is also a fashion and music mogul.
