90 Day Fiance star Jorge Nava has revealed he has lost a stunning 125 pounds since beginning his prison sentence, but the transformation apparently goes deeper than just the physical.

Jorge, who began serving his 22-month prison sentence in September 2018 after pleading guilty to a felony charge of marijuana transportation, created quite the stir among 90 Day Fiance viewers when a new inmate photo showing his dramatic weight loss circulated online.

"I am glad that people are noticing some positivity out of such a negative outcome," Jorge told E! News in an interview that was coordinated by his attorney, Brad Rideout.

"Hopefully people can see that I am able to turn things around even though I am at the lowest point in my life."

The photo of Jorge posted on the Arizona Department of Corrections' inmate website showed a much slimmer man in the neck and face, leading fans to believe he had followed his wife Anfisa Arkhipchenko's lead and developed a passion for fitness while in prison. (Either that, or it was the prison food).

Jorge -- who was admitted into prison weighing 275 pounds and standing 6'3" tall, according to his prison record -- told E! News he has lost a staggering 125 pounds since entering an Arizona State Prison Complex in Phoenix.

Jorge revealed he works out with a fellow inmate every day, once at 4AM and again in the afternoon.

"We both motivate each other and we push ourselves to the limit pretty much," the reality TV star explained, adding that he has focused primarily on "military-based" workouts and "a lot of jogging."

In terms of what he's eating, Jorge reportedly said he downs a lot of oatmeal and peanut butter. Jorge was also forced to cut out fast food, energy drinks and soda from his diet given he's currently not a free man.

"I had a really bad diet when I was out in the free world," Jorge admitted to E! News.

"I wanted to be in the best physical and healthiest shape possible. I feel healthy and energetic. I feel overall more confident with myself."

Jorge also insisted he's bettering himself as a man for the benefit of his marriage to Anfisa, which is doing "really well," according to the former 90 Day Fiance star.

"My hope is to basically get out and start life over with a different point of view," said Jorge, who apparently can't wait to reunite with his wife once he completes his sentence.

"I don't want to make the same mistake that I already did. I learned from all of the negativity. Hopefully, I can turn it into something positive and make a greater change."

Brad revealed he's very proud of the steps Jorge has taken to improve his future while behind bars.

"It's not easy going to prison and it's a place that changes a lot of people for the worse," the attorney told E! News. "I find Mr. Nava's attitude and drive to change both mentally and physically inspiring."

Jorge was arrested at age 28 in February 2018 with nearly 300 pounds of marijuana in the trunk of his car.

Jorge previously said he believes his prior criminal record -- which includes two previous convictions for cultivation of marijuana -- is why he didn't receive a lighter sentence to begin with.

"With the charges against me, I was looking at around 24 years or something like that. [It was] some ridiculous number," he told TMZ last year.

"But luckily, my lawyer was able to work out a plea agreement and I got the charges dropped and I ended up pleading to a class 4 felony in Arizona."

Recreational marijuana (especially 300 pounds of it) is still not legal in Arizona.

After originally appearing on Season 4 of 90 Day Fiance, Jorge and Anfisa -- who met on Facebook -- were also part of the cast of Seasons 2 and 3 of 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?.

Jorge and Anfisa, however, confirmed in October 2018 they wouldn't be returning to 90 Day Fiance.

Jorge was a 27-year-old from Riverside, CA and Anfisa was a 20-year-old from Moscow, Russia when Anfisa arrived in America on a K-1 visa.

Anfisa didn't exactly deny she was in the relationship for Jorge's money, but she believed he, in turn, was dating her primarily for her looks.

Regardless, the pair got married in a simple courthouse ceremony, and they remain married today.

While her husband has been in prison, Anfisa has been committed to fitness as well and became a bodybuilder.

"To fill the void that I felt after Jorge was sentenced and I was left on my own I decided to try to stay busy and do what I enjoy the most and it was working out," Anfisa said on Instagram.

"And ONE DAY I want to take it on a higher level and compete in NPC bikini division."

In July, Anfisa celebrated her wins in a female bodybuilding competition she had entered in Las Vegas.

"Stage photos are coming in! To be honest I still can't believe I won every class I competed in last weekend  Only when I look at the photos and my trophies I realize that it actually happened!" she gushed at the time.
