90 Day Fiance star Jay Smith's split from his wife Ashley Martson is apparently becoming permanent.

On Sunday morning, Jay -- whose real name is Conroy Smith -- created a GoFundMe account looking to raise $5,000 to help him get on his feet and get his own place to live.

After creating the GoFundMe, Jay shared a link to it in an Instagram Stories posting on his Instagram account.

"Help me get and my feet an a place to stay," he wrote in the title of the GoFundMe.

"Need help to get in my feet," he added in the posting's details area.

The GoFundMe account had raised a total of $5 from one contributor as of Sunday 1PM ET.

According to 90 Day Fiance blogger John Yates, Jay also briefly posted an Instagram photo showing Ashley talking with a police officer outside what appeared to be her home.

"Okay Ashley call the cops... guess it's time to leave now," the 90 Day Fiance star captioned the photo, which he subsequently deleted.

What happened? When did Ashley and Jay split?

Speculation that Ashley and Jay may have suddenly split began swirling on December 22 after Ashley posted a cryptic Instagram Stories photo about not being about to "fake" things anymore and 90 Day Fiance fans noticed she had also deleted all of her photos of Jay from her Instagram account.

"You can only fake that things everything is ok for so long. Then you just hit that point... - ME!!!!!" the Instagram Stories posting stated.

In addition, fans also noticed Ashley and Jay no longer appear to be following each other on Instagram. Jay also subsequently scrubbed his Instagram account of any photos of Ashley.

Prior to Ashley's December 22 posting, Ashley and Jay's social media postings had regularly featured each other and made it clear that they were still together and living in her hometown of Mechanicsburg, PA.

Ashley was hospitalized due to lupus twice this month

Earlier this month, Ashley had revealed she had recently been hospitalized but was now home and doing better.

"Thank you so much for all your prayers and support. Your kind words are what is helping me get through this trying time. Truly appreciate each of you!" she wrote in an Instagram Story.

"I'm finally home and on the mend! Thanks again for everyone's support."

Ashley didn't dive into the details of her illness or condition, although she had previously shared that she suffers from lupus, a chronic autoimmune disorder.

But Jay had seemingly confirmed Ashley's hospitalization was due to her ongoing battle with lupus when he posted two photos showing Ashley sleeping in a hospital bed.

"I promise I will always be there for you through all the ups and downs, no matter what happens. Love you babe girl get well soon #lupus #getwellsoon #staystrong," he captioned the images.

However, a few days after her cryptic December 22 posting that alluded to a split with Jay, Ashley had posted several more Instagram Stories in which she revealed she had been re-hospitalized due to lupus and spent Christmas in the hospital.

"If I could ask Santa for one gift it would be Good Health. Being admitted on Christmas Eve and missing Christmas morning with my children is the worst," she wrote in an Instagram Story posting.

"My strength is beginning to run out but God's strength will pull me through."

Although he didn't confirm where he was, Jay had also subsequently posted an Instagram Story showing him sitting in a hospital room 90 Day Fiance fans presumed was Ashley's.

However, Jay had urged viewers to stop speculating about his life in an Instagram Stories posting on Saturday.

"Stop act like y'all know my life," he wrote.

What's Ashley's status now?

Ashley was released from the hospital late last week and is now back home.

Yesterday, Ashley posted an Instagram Stories posting of a photo of fellow 90 Day Fiance cast member Kalani Faagata.

"This show has been beyond stressful and at times I wonder what I was thinking. However, meeting this beauty was godsend," Ashley wrote on the photo.

"Please don't ever stop being the amazing person you are! I'm so glad I get to ride this crazy rollercoaster with you as a friend!"

"Plus chatting late night about how much we hate most people on social media and want to throat punch them is all the therapy I need for this train wreck we signed up for... Love ya, Girl," she concluded.
