Ed, 55, revealed he's still dating Liz but they're "in a rough spot right now," according to Us Weekly.

"And we're kind of working through [things]. A relationship is hard and she got out of her last relationship recently. I think she was only single for about two weeks before her and I started dating," Ed told the magazine.

"So I think for Liz, it was a lot too fast," he added.

Ed, a professional photographer from San Diego, CA, thought he had found the love of his life in Rosemarie "Rose" Vega, a 23-year-old single mom from the Philippines, but the pair split up on 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days' fourth season.

During an April episode of 90 Day: The Single Life, Ed asked Liz -- a restaurant employee whom Ed had been crushing on and previously took out on a couple of dates -- to be his girlfriend.

After Ed said he and Liz "made love all night" in a hotel room, Liz agreed to be Ed's official girlfriend as long as he wouldn't rush things. Liz also acknowledged she wasn't ready to meet Ed's adult daughter Tiffany yet.

"Liz lights up my world and I'm realizing that she's whom I want to be with forever... I never thought I would find love again. I just hope I don't blow it!" Ed said on the show at the time.

But it now sounds like Ed unfortunately blew it.

"When you fall in love so quickly and have the types of feelings that we have for each other, it was definitely real," Ed explained to Us.

"It was just -- I think our biggest struggle was we went from zero to 100, like overnight."

Ed revealed there were "certainly" and "absolutely" red flags with Liz once cameras stopped rolling.

"All I can say is that you need to watch the show," Ed noted of 90 Day: The Single Life. "It's a lot of drama. It's a lot of heartache."

But Ed insisted he "definitely" wants to make his relationship with Liz work.

"We have a lot to work on. We talked about getting counseling, we've talked a lot about going to church. Yeah, so I'm very optimistic and I want to give this a chance and see it through," Ed shared. "I do [feel like Liz is in it as well]."

On his reaction to seeing Liz at the Tell-All, Ed recalled, "I didn't expect to see her at the Tell-All, and when she walked across the stage, I was wonderfully shocked, and I'm glad she was there."

"It was definitely too soon I think for Liz and I to see each other because we were in kind of a downward turn in our relationship still," Ed explained.

"We were hopeful to work things out, but I was definitely shocked to see her walk across the stage. A good shock."

If his romance with Liz ultimately fails, Ed said he would "possibly" be willing to date another woman in the 90 Day Fiance franchise.

Ed, for instance, revealed he's attracted to his 90 Day: The Single Life co-star Fernanda Flores, 24, but they lack chemistry, which is "important" to the photographer.

Ed also pointed out he may search for an older woman than 24 years old if his romance with Liz ends.

"That's one thing that I've learned through this whole process is that age is a number and it's important, but it's also a maturity level and a 24-year-old is not going to want the same guy when she's 28, and a 28-year-old is not going to want the same guy when she's 38, at least that's what I believe," Ed told the magazine.

"So I want something that's going to be real permanent and I think I'm going to need to date someone closer to my age."

Ed concluded, "It's not always about appearance or looks because that fades. There just has to be -- at least I'm learning on my new journey -- there has to be more than what's on the outside."

On Season 4 of 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days, Rose broke up with Ed because she wanted more children and he waited until they were in a serious relationship to tell her about his vasectomy. (Rose had even introduced Ed to her beloved son).

Rose also accused Ed of offending and embarrassing her on more than one occasion, including the time he wanted to test Rose for STDs and suggested she use mouthwash because of her bad breath.

On the Tell-All special for their season, the pair was still broken up and Ed shared, "I'm willing to try love again. I'm willing to get back into the game."

"She gave me that. She taught me that. She didn't destroy me," he continued.

"I wasn't destroyed like I was from my first marriage. So, I know my heart could [get broken] again but it's not going to destroy me and I'm not going to disappear. So I'm going to give love a chance, I am certainly am."

After Ed's split with Rose, 90 Day: Bares All on discovery+ showed Ed hiring a personal trainer and attempting to lose 30 pounds and change his look so that he could feel more confident in the dating world.

Ed had also moved into a new house that also had enough room for his mother.
