Chantel Everett's brother, River Everett, is opening up about his physical altercation with Pedro Jimeno, as shown on 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?.

"To be honest, I'm mad at myself because I don't like getting out of character. I don't regret it, but I'm mad at myself because I don't like getting out of character like that," River said in an Instagram Live video obtained by In Touch Weekly.

The fight quickly escalated and resulted in Pedro -- restrained by multiple crew members -- getting kicked out of Chantel's parents' home, and on his way out, he made sure to kick and break what appeared to be a glass centerpiece on the dinner table.
Chantel immediately broke down into tears, shocked over the turn of events. And now River is explaining his side of the story.
"Pedro was doing this [points finger] and he told my parents to 'shut up.' I said, 'You can't disrespect my parents like that,'" River recalled.
As shown on 90 Day Fiance, an offended Pedro stood up at the dinner table, repeatedly demanding that River repeat what he had said.
"He stood up, I stood up. People said it looked like I threw something -- from where I stood up, I couldn't even see Pedro. All I did was hit the lamp... because I was getting frustrated and when I'm frustrated, I don't wanna take it out on nobody else," River explained.

River insisted he never intended to get physical with her sister's husband and he was just trying to defend his parents.
Chantel and Pedro's marriage has been plagued with issues ever since Pedro entered the United States from the Dominican Republic, as Chantel's loved ones are skeptical of his intentions and actions.
For example, 90 Day Fiance has featured Chantel's relatives questioning why Pedro sends so much money abroad to his sister and mother.

Chantel's parents also fear Pedro is using his wife for a green card, and they don't appreciate the way he often takes his sister Nicole Jimeno's side in arguments she has with Chantel.
"Every time I'm around the family... these people [are] thinking wrong about me, wrong about my family," Pedro explained in a confessional on Sunday night's broadcast before attending the family dinner.
"I am so nervous about tonight, but Chantel is thinking I put my sister first... and I want to prove I love Chantel."

Prior to appearing on TLC's Happily Ever After? spinoff, Chantel and Pedro starred on Season 4 of the original 90 Day Fiance series.
