Ari and Biniyam first appeared on Seasons 2 and 3 of 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way and have a child together named Avi.

90 Day Fiance features Americans who have fallen in love with foreigners bringing their fiances to the United States on K-1 visas.

However, once the couple is in America together, the American must marry their overseas partner within the 90-day period allowed by the visa or the foreigner has to return to their home country.

"The pressure is on and with travel guidelines more challenging than ever, there's even more at stake with these international love stories," TLC teased of the season.

"Couples aren't just navigating unique lifestyle and cultural changes when arriving in America -- many of them must also adjust to parenthood and nontraditional family lifestyles. And while absence makes the heart grow fonder, personalities and temperaments have changed and not always for the best."

Below is what happened on Episode 11 of 90 Day Fiance's ninth season.

EMILY and KOBE

Emily and Kobe were shown shopping for a new mattress with 34 days left to wed. Kobe had been sleeping in his own room down the hall in Emily's house because he didn't fit in her bed when Koban slept with her every night.

Since Kobe wanted to sleep with his family and not apart from them, Emily determined that she'd be okay with spending the money for a bigger bed as long as it made her fiance happy.

Kobe later went ring shopping with Emily's sister for a diamond ring, the ring Emily had always wanted. Emily's father thought it was "stupid" for Kobe to waste his savings on a ring, but since it was so important to Emily, he also went along so Kobe wouldn't get ripped off and spend everything he had.

When Kobe looked at the rings, he was shocked to hear one liked was $7,000. Kobe had only come to America with $4,000 saved, which was a lot of money in Cameroon. They could buy some land and start a business with that money where he's from, and so Kobe admitted he felt very discouraged. Kobe selected a nice ring for $1,100 at 30 percent off.

Kobe recognized putting his money on a ring was "crazy," but he really wanted to make Emily happy and hoped she'd love the ring.

Emily and Kobe proceeded to have some "me time" in their new bed, and Emily called the purchase a game-changer. She was still working part-time and taking care of her son, and so she called life "so crazy."

Kobe took Emily to a romantic dinner that evening, and he told her to pick whatever she wanted off the menu. Kobe then had the waitress bring out glasses of champagne, and Emily's new diamond ring was waiting for her in the glass.

"Will you marry me?" Kobe asked.

"It's so pretty!" Emily gushed. "Of course [I will marry you]! I am so happy! I want to go home and f-ck, I love it!"

Emily thought the gesture was so special, but it was making her feel bad and guilty about the ring she had already bought herself, thinking Kobe wouldn't be able to afford one.

Emily worried her first ring would hurt Kobe's pride, and she absolutely didn't want to hurt his feelings.

Once the pair returned home, Emily confessed how she had purchased an engagement ring for herself and intended to return it. Kobe refused to look at the ring and felt like Emily never had faith in him to do it right.

Kobe began developing trust issues as a result, thinking Emily didn't take his words seriously or was trying to "underlook" him. Kobe said he felt hurt and "so insulted" after the beautiful moment he and Emily just shared earlier in the evening.

BILAL and SHAEEDA

With 59 days left to wed, Shaeeda was very upset over the idea of Bilal making her sign a prenuptial agreement before their wedding.

Bilal's sister had agreed to make her a designer wedding dress, and Bilal talked to his sister about how he didn't understand why the conversation had upset Shaeeda so much. He was confused as to why she considered it such a negative thing.

Shaeeda then FaceTimed with her sisters and mentioned the prenup, and the women said it seemed like Bilal didn't trust Shaeeda or thought she was after his money.

The women were also surprised Bilal brought the subject up during a romantic evening out on the Ferris wheel. Bilal explained how there is "a love component" but also a "business component" to marriage.

Shaeeda wasn't sure if she was going to sign the prenup, and Bilal wasn't sure if he would still marry Shaeeda without the signed papers. Shaeeda considered writing having children before 40 in the prenup agreement so her needs and wants would be accounted for as well.

Bilal told his sister how every person he loved had left him and so that's why he needed this peace of mind about keeping his assets and finances in check. Bilal's sister could see both sides and believed both individuals had made some valid points.

Shaeeda later asked Bilal if he would agree to having a child before the age of 40, and she wanted that written down in their contract.

Bilal had been hoping this trip to Atlanta would reignite their romance, but he felt they were further apart than ever before.

"I honestly don't know what's going to happen next. I just don't know," Bilal lamented in a confessional.

ARIELA and BINIYAM

With 38 days to wed, Ariela realized she and Biniyam were very different people, and she began to worry if their lives were going in different directions. In order to get some advice and guidance, Ariela called her best friend and ex-husband Leandro.

Ariela and Leandro had married at age 19 and were together for 10 years. Although she found their divorce devastating, they didn't end on bad terms. Ariela said they could talk and laugh for hours and she'd always care about him.

Leandro had also emigrated to the U.S. from Argentina, and so Ariela thought he could share his perspective of living in the United States and how Biniyam might feel in his new world.

Biniyam also met up with the former couple at a restaurant, and he seemed uneasy. Biniyam worried Leandro still had feelings for Ari, and he said this type of friendship isn't normal in his Ethiopian culture.

Biniyam had another fight lined up, and he joked about Leandro practicing with him. Ariela complained about how Biniyam had neglected to tell her that he had been training with a woman, and Leandro came to the conclusion that Biniyam was "not paying enough attention" to his wife and needed to learn and grow as a partner.

Ariela then invited Leandro to celebrate the Ethiopian New Year with them, and Leandro said he'd like to attend the party since he felt like he's a part of Ariela's family.

"I am not happy... I don't trust him," Biniyam told the cameras. "He is too close to Ari."

But Ariela gushed, "This is going to be fun!"

Biniyam and Ariela later celebrated the Ethiopian New Year with Ariela's parents, Janice and Fred, who were thrilled about Leandro participating in the family event at a restaurant.

Biniyam fed Leandro food to show that they're brothers, but Biniyam put too much food in Leandro's mouth, and so Leandro wondered what his intentions really were. Leandro thought Biniyam wanted to "eliminate the threat at all costs."

"I think there is a lot of distrust in this relationship," Leandro noted.

During the meal, Ariela said she'd like Leandro to help her pick out a wedding dress, but Biniyam didn't like that because he said he didn't trust Leandro. Biniyam feared Leandro would try to catch a peek of Ariela changing, for instance.

Biniyam wished Leandro would just get out of his life, but Leandro told the cameras that he wasn't going anywhere.

PATRICK and THAIS

Patrick and Thais had been in Dallas for a few weeks, and the couple had been arguing a lot over finances and Patrick's brother John living in their house. Patrick said he was therefore trying to be more open, understanding and considerate.

Patrick also began brainstorming ways he and Thai could have fun together again, just the two of them. Patrick then surprised Thais with a trip to Las Vegas, and she seemed really excited about the city full of lights and the backdrop of many movies. She'd also get to meet Patrick's brother Matthew and his husband Carlos.

Patrick lived in Las Vegas while he was in high school, and so Patrick was excited to show Thais where he grew up and to share that experience with her. Thais thought the city was fun and beautiful, and she was thrilled for Patrick to have a few days off from work.

Patrick's mother apparently struggled with drug abuse when he was younger and Matthew chose to stick around the city when Patrick left. Patrick believed his brothers have his best interest at heart, and so he hoped Thais could have a good relationship with him.

Thais insisted she was in America for Patrick and not for a green card, and she revealed how her father had no idea that she was about to get married — which shocked Patrick and was news to him. She didn't want Patrick to find out this way but had accidentally let it slip.

"It spun my world around. What else is she not telling me?" Patrick questioned.

Patrick later told Thais how he would feel really bad marrying Thais without her father's permission and blessing. But Thais didn't want to have to tell Patrick that her father didn't like him and assumed American men want to take advantage of Brazilian women.

Thais didn't want Patrick to dislike her father either, and Thais told Patrick that they didn't need her father to know about the wedding.

Patrick was really bothered by this news and began to wonder if Thais was really in the United States for a free vacation and planned to return to Brazil soon. Patrick wondered if he was being an idiot in thinking Thais truly wanted to marry him and be with him forever.

Regardless, Thais said it was her decision to make and she didn't want to tell her father about their marriage plans. She thought she was doing what's best as to not hurt her dad.

Patrick, however, wasn't about to let this go. He told Thais that this was "not okay" and Thais' family should be involved in their wedding.

Thais wanted to keep her wedding a secret and tell her father about it after the fact or else he'd probably say "no" and not agree with the marriage.

Thais thought a secret wedding would show her father how Patrick really wanted to marry her, and then Thais asked Patrick to tie the knot at a chapel in Vegas -- an idea which Patrick totally shot down.

Thais thought a Vegas wedding would be utterly romantic, but Patrick disagreed and refused to exchange spontaneous vows.

"This is crazy," Patrick said. "No. This isn't how I imagined getting married. I want to have a real wedding... This is how you marry a stripper, and you deserve better."

YVE and MOHAMED

Yve and Mohamed hadn't been seeing eye to eye, and she said they needed to find a middle ground or else their relationship wasn't going to work out. Yve wanted to get back to a place of connection, love and romance, and so she took Mohamed to the gym so they could work out together and let off some steam.

Mohamed thought Yve's outfit was a little too revealing, but he decided not to fight with her that day since he loved her and wanted to understand her culture a little more.

The couple had a little over two months to plan a wedding, Yve thought Mohamed would be a great father, and Mohamed said he'd love to have a child with Yve. Given Yve's age, however, Mohamed said it wouldn't be a dealbreaker if they couldn't have a baby together.

The couple the discussed how they would raise their child and in what religion, and Mohamed said he'd like to take his son or daughter to the mosque. Mohamed said their child would be able to choose as an adult, but as a child, he didn't want Yve to "confuse" him or her.

"It's very simple. My child will be Muslim," Mohamed said.

"It's not that simple because I'm not Muslim," Yve fired back.

Mohamed didn't want to see his child drink alcohol or party, and he thought Yve had been raised with too much freedom. He didn't want his child to behave like Yve, apparently.

"Let me be very straight with you: if my child will not be a Muslim, I prefer not to have a child," Mohamed noted.

Yve admitted to the cameras that she was totally shocked and Mohamed didn't have "a realistic perspective on that." Yve wasn't sure if she was okay with this.

JIBRI and MIONA

Jibri's mother Mahala was shown talking to Jibri's grandparents about Jibri's choice to marry Miona in a quickie Chicago beach wedding before Jibri and Miona were about to join them for a dinner at home.

"No knives on the table tonight," Jibri's grandmother joked.

Jibri was afraid Miona was going to end the relationship if her demands couldn't be met, and Miona was upset about Jibri feeling so "doubtful." She wanted her man to be sure about her and not listen to the opinions of his friends or family members.

Mahala said she couldn't pretend like nothing was wrong at the dinner table, and so she announced how she had some concerns about Jibri and Miona getting married.

Jibri acknowledged how marriage is a big deal and his parents didn't want to see him hurt, and Miona said she and Jibri deserved credit for handling so well under the pressure of tying the knot in 90 days.

Jibri's grandmother said she didn't feel any joy surrounding this marriage, and Miona explained how she and Jibri needed to wed in order to be together and love was the foundation of their relationship.

"I'd probably leave him [if we don't get married]," Miona admitted.

Jibri's father said if Miona was willing to leave Jibri, then she didn't love him or was as committed as she had said, but Miona said Jibri refusing to marry her would essentially be a betrayal.

"It would be throwing everything away we did and fought for," Miona explained.

Mahala called Jibri's romance "fragile" and didn't think her son's marriage was going to last.

Mahala thought her son was being pressured to do something he didn't want to do, which wasn't a healthy ground for his relationship. Jibri told Miona that she wasn't pressuring him at the moment but he felt frustrated with her ultimatums and habit of being inconsiderate.

"You are impatient and you are wanting everything right away like an entitled Millennial," Jibri complained to his fiance. "You want everything in a microwave, and I don't think that's fair."

Mahala interrupted Jibri, saying he was pretty much calling Miona names and she wasn't going to stand for that.

Jibri corrected himself, saying Miona had that Millennial's "mentality," and Miona lamented about how Jibri shouldn't be talking to anyone else about their problems before talking to her in private.

Miona said it was their wedding and not everybody else's wedding. Miona said she had tried to remain respectful to everyone but she was on the verge of crying the whole night.

Miona wanted to leave the tense situation, and she said if it meant leaving Jibri there too, "then that's fine."

With that being said, the conversation came to an end.

KARA and GUILLERMO

With 35 days to wed, Guillermo learned that his brother Jose was in the hospital with renal failure. He had been undergoing dialysis for about a year prior to his hospitalization, and things had suddenly taken a turn for the worse.

Guillermo's mother was in Venezuela and both of his brothers were in the Dominican Republic.

Kara felt for her fiance since his family was spread so far apart and they were going through such a difficult time. Guillermo couldn't go back to the Dominican Republic any time soon, and he couldn't believe that he was going to miss his brother's funeral.

Guillermo was able to talk to Jose via videochat as Jose was dying, and both Guillermo and Kara couldn't stop the tears from flowing.

Guillermo and Jose had always been very close, and so Guillermo admitted his brother dying "would be one of the worst things."

Kara hugged Guillermo close, and he whispered, "I love you, baby."

Jose proceeded to pass away hours later, and Guillermo said he was "in shock."

Kara joked about how she'd remember Jose with a big belly and no shirt, "just chilling." And Guillermo said Jose always made the people around him happy and he was so proud of Guillermo.

"And he loved you," Guillermo told Kara, "so much."
