The season will feature more cast members in the coming weeks, but below is what happened on Episode 1 of 90 Day Diaries' third season.

KALANI and ASUELU

Kalani and Asuelu met in Summer 2016 in Samoa when Asuelu was working at a resort that Kalani was staying at with her father. Asuelu thought she was the "most gorgeous girl on the planet," and then the couple had a surprise pregnancy and applied for the K-1 visa.

"We had only known each other for a couple of months, so I don't think either of us really knew 100 percent that we wanted to be together or that it would work, but we did end up getting married -- and here we are!" Kalani said.

Kalani and Asuelu had just celebrated their three-year wedding anniversary the previous months, and they are parents of two sons: Oliver, 3, and Kennedy, 2.

The family was shown picking pumpkins in a pumpkin patch, and Kalani said although COVID-19 was really tough on her relationship with Asuelu, he had changed a lot and was helping out more with the boys.

Kalani also applauded Asuelu on communicating better and putting more effort into their marriage.

Kalani's beloved mother Lisa had moved to California a couple of months prior, so Kalani and Asuelu were still living in her house in Utah and getting ready to sell it and move to California.

Kalani said there was nothing left in Utah for the couple anymore and they couldn't wait to leave. However, it was going to take a lot of work to move, and Kalani said she needed more assistance from her husband, who apparently played golf pretty often among other hobbies.

"In the future, I would like to do other things and not just be home all the time. Asuelu has the things he likes to do by himself, and I don't have any of those things," Kalani complained.

Kalani looked forward to having friends in California and more babysitters so she and Asuelu could have date nights, but she admitted to her mom that everything was not okay in her marriage.

"I'm so sick of saying everything is good, everything is fine and we're going to end up together -- to just saying, 'Nope, we're going to get a divorce!' I feel like I'm at a breaking point," Kalani lamented to Lisa during her visit to Utah.

"I'm not going to keep begging him to do things. All of this is up to him, so if he ends up [in California] cool, and if he doesn't, well that's up to him at this point."

Kalani, Asuelu and the kids had fun carving their pumpkins, but then Kalani wanted to have a serious sit-down conversation with her husband, which would be the first one in a couple of months.

Kalani said they would have moved to California sooner if Asuelu had helped her out more, and she asked him how he thought things had been going in their relationship.

"Good," Asuelu replied.

Kalani argued that they weren't doing well and Asuelu felt good because he received quiet and free time constantly whereas Kalani felt like she was raising two kids all by herself.

"It makes me feel like I'm a bad husband and I'm a bad father, but no, I'm not," Asuelu said. "You don't like me to play volleyball, so I play golf. I go early and come back home, so it makes me really upset."

Asuelu said he offered to take Oliver or Kennedy with him places at times but Kalani said "no" and so he couldn't spend time with them alone.

"Because when I watch you watch them, something usually bad happens. So for you to take Oliver in the car by yourself, that's scary to me," Kalani said.

"I think you're overreacting," Asuelu countered.

"I am not overreacting! How many times have my kids almost died when you're around?!" Kalani shouted.

Kalani recalled Kennedy getting loose in the parking lot at the pumpkin patch, but Asuelu apparently didn't think that was a big deal.

Suddenly, Asuelu said he was done with the talk, and he walked away from his wife swearing.

"You can't talk about problems, and this is why we fight and this is why it's not going to work," Kalani muttered.

TOM and MARIAH

Tom had been in a relationship with Darcey Silva a few years ago. Fast forward some time, and Tom has been dating his girlfriend Mariah for over a year now.

"I've been happy every day during that period of time. She is loving, very romantic, and just an absolute all-around wonderful woman," Tom gushed in a confessional.

Mariah lives in Las Vegas and said having a long-distance relationship with Tom was "trying" at times but he was very good at calling and texting her nonstop. She called him "very attentive."

Tom agreed the distance made things a little bit difficult and Mariah had visited him in England about 13 times. He wasn't able to go to the United States due to its border being closed amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The couple was then shown going horseback riding together, and Tom said he hoped things were about to change in his relationship because he was planning on asking Mariah to marry him during this trip.

Tom, however, wanted to make sure they were on the same page and that Mariah truly wanted him to join her in America permanently. Tom said he'd prefer to stay in London but that's not possible because Mariah has two sons whom Tom had yet to meet in-person.

After riding horses, Mariah told Tom that he could get his own apartment in the U.S. and then she would slowly integrate him into her boys' lives, and Tom said he liked that idea.

The couple also laughed about how they'd see each other Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and every other Saturday.

Tom then asked Mariah to get all dressed up inside, and once she came outside in a dress and heels, Tom -- wearing a black suit -- had set up a beautiful picnic for her by a pond. He was nervous and sweating about the idea of popping the question, and Mariah still wasn't sure if Tom really knew her on a deep level.

Tom then popped champagne, and as white swans floated nearby, he told Mariah that he loved her from the moment he had set eyes on her and he missed her so much when they're apart.

"You're the kindest, sweetest, most wonderful person I've ever met, and I love you with all my heart," Tom began. "And I have something to ask you, and I got you something."

Tom then took the ring box out of his pocket and asked Mariah, "I adore you, and I want you to be my wife."

Mariah hesitated and then started to cry, and she said, "I can't take that right now."

"Why not?" Tom asked.

"I can't take that right now, Thomas," Mariah cried. "I'm sorry."

Tom comforted his girlfriend and told her that it was "okay." She asked for a hug, and he held her close, but he was clearly feeling embarrassed and rejected.

"I don't really have words to explain how I'm feeling, to be honest. I just feel numb. I feel like I made a mistake, and I feel foolish and I feel hurt -- for asking, because I love Mariah and that has not changed," Tom admitted.

Mariah asked Tom to save the ring for a proposal later in the future. She felt bad about turning down Tom's grand gesture, but she told the cameras how her sons, who are both in high school, are her priority in life.

"I don't know if I have the space for anyone else, and so I don't know if it's the right thing or not," Mariah said.

Mariah and Tom, however, agreed on a near-future trip to Las Vegas, and Tom said he definitely still wanted to date Mariah and figure out where things could go from there.

BRANDON and JULIA

Brandon and Julia met through Brandon's best friend who happened to be in the same country as Julia and he introduced Brandon to the brunette beauty through video chat, which turned into hours and hours of conversations.

Brandon said he visited Julia in Korea, where she was living at the time, and they fell in love. Five months later, they got engaged and decided Julia should move to the United States.

The couple therefore applied for a K-1 visa and got married in Brandon's hometown.

Since Brandon and Julia got married, they moved out of Brandon's parents' house into an apartment of their own, but Julia was apparently sick of the apartment and wanted to find a bigger place with more space.

Julia also felt stuck at the apartment while Brandon was gone because she didn't have a car.

Julia also missed their dog Simba, who was living at the family farm.

Julia said she and Brandon sometimes visited his parents to help them or visit the dog, which was a healthy amount of time.

Brandon's dad Ron, who had been having some health issues, shared with the couple how he wanted to live in a smaller house that he already owned because the farm had become overwhelming for him to take care of.

Ron therefore suggested maybe Brandon and Julia should take over the big house and the whole farm.

Ron wanted to meet with Brandon's mother to talk about things, but Julia didn't like the idea because she didn't want to live with all the animals. Julia also said she'd have to decorate the entire house to her liking if she was going to live there.

But Ron acknowledged this was going to be a tough sell to his wife, Betty, than it would be to Julia.

The trio then went out to dinner and Betty was shocked to hear Ron's idea about them moving out of the farm house. Julia said she needed time to think the decision over, but Betty said, "This is the first time I've heard this!"

Betty said the farm was her entire life, but Julia would want to sell all of the animals if she was going to live there.

Betty needed to think things over and not rush into anything, so Brandon and Julia realized they were going to be stuck in the apartment for another five months.

CORTNEY

Cortney, who lives at home with her parents, was shown golfing with her father.

Cortney had met Antonio in Spain when she was 26-years-old. She said they had a lot of chemistry but also a lot of trust issues. While Cortney determined they weren't compatible, they are still friends.

During quarantine, Cortney had met a man named Andy, but she revealed how they were "toxic" together even though he was "a good guy."

Cortney therefore broke up with Andy and started dating a guy named Andrew. But a few months prior to filming this segment, Cortney broke up with him because he allegedly wasn't ready for a serious commitment. She said he just wanted to play video games with his friends.

"I also have a one-year rule that you need to propose or else I'm going to go look for other options," Cortney said.

Cortney said she was online dating but tended to meet met who were married or still in love with their exes. She also said many men were dating multiple women at once or abused drugs.

Last year, Cortney was selling foot-modeling photos online, but the business wasn't sustainable once her feet got bitten by mosquitoes. And at one point, she lost a toenail so it "put [her] career on hold."

Cortney's mother threatened to charge her rent every month, but Cortney thought that was ridiculous because the house was already paid off and they didn't even have a mortgage.

Cortney was then shown going out on a date with a man named Nabil, a company owner who was also starting a golf company. The pair went to a safari, but Cortney admitted that she was more interested in the cute animals than she was in her date.

The couple learned they had different eating habits, and Nabil didn't like Cortney's taste in music. They didn't have much in common, especially because Nabil said that he doesn't like to drink.

Cortney said her love life was "TBD" and she hoped the right man would come along so she wouldn't have to work.

ELLIE and VICTOR

Ellie met Victor while on vacation in Providencia, Colombia, when she was walking down the beach. The pair watched a sunset together and then they began dating.

Ellie visited Victor five times in over two years after first meeting, and their plan was for Ellie to give up everything in Seattle and move to Providencia and get married there.

However, a hurricane drastically changed their plans. The Category 5 destroyed 90 percent of Victor's island, and so they applied for a K-1 visa -- but then COVID-19 happened and everything shut down.

Ellie therefore decided to return to Seattle and wait things out. She returned to the pizzeria she still owned, and Ellie was so happy she could just slide back into her old life.

And then, out of nowhere, Victor was interviewed at the Embassy.

"Victor is going to be here tomorrow!" Ellie revealed.

Ellie picked Victor up at the airport, and it had been four months since they last saw each other.

When Victor saw Ellie's house, he was shocked by its beauty, size and working roof. He called being together with Ellie in the U.S. "a dream come true," and Ellie suggested how they should start planning their wedding since they only had 90 days together.

Victor said it didn't matter how or where they wed because he wasn't marrying Ellie for a green card. However, Victor asked Ellie how fast he could obtain the green card after tying the knot, and Ellie said between three and nine months.

Ellie told Victor that she wouldn't mind supporting him until then, but money was tight since her pizzeria had no business during the pandemic.

"I'm just happy to have Victor here and I want to progress our relationship," Ellie noted.

Ellie then gave Victor a tour of her house, and she gifted him her deceased husband's guitar. Victor thought the present was really sweet, and then he performed a little romantic song for his girlfriend about having "a magic vibe" with her.

As the 90 Day Dairies episode's closing credits rolled, the episode flashed forward to "90 days later" and showed what appeared to be a mobile-phone video showing Ellie and Victor getting married in an outdoor ceremony in the Seattle area.

"We got married," told viewers in a dairy video.

"We're doing great. We're looking forward to going back to Providencia at some point and seeing what the future brings."
