64th annual Golden Globe Awards nominations announced

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has announced the nominees for the 64th annual Golden Globe Awards.

The categories of best female actress in a drama and best actor in a drama are comprised of a star-studded line up including, Penelope Cruz, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Judi Dench, Kate Winslet, Leonardo Dicaprio (with two nominations), Will Smith and Forest Whitaker, The Hollywood Foreign Press Association reported.

The new hit comedy film "Borat: Cultural Learning's of America For Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan" is nominated for best comedy film as well as having its lead actor, Sacha Baron Cohn, nominated for best actor in a comedy or musical.

The best-animated film nominees are Disney's "Cars," Kingdom Pictures' "Happy Feet" and Columbia's "Monster House."

Clint Eastwood and Martin Scorsese are both nominated for the category of best Director for a motion picture.

The best television series category nominees are "24," "Grey's Anatomy," "Lost" and "Heroes."
