Michael Young, 60, of Rhode Island, told Judge Daniel O'Shea he learned there was a warrant for his arrest as a result of the September 1974 charge when he recently visited the Rhode Island Registry of Motor Vehicles, The (Attleboro, Mass.) Sun Chronicle reported Wednesday.
"I'd like to get this dismissed," Young said in court.
The judge and Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Gonzalez agreed to dismiss the charge with a $100 court costs payment.
