Once the button was pushed to set off the demolition, the Landmark Tower took about 30 seconds to be reduced to rubble, CBS Channel 11 reported.
The tower is one of the tallest buildings to be demolished by implosion, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported. Police shut off 15 blocks around the tower early Saturday, and trailers were set up around the building for protection from flying debris.
The 30-story Landmark Tower was bought two years ago by a company that always planned to clear the site.
