TheKnot.com, which said the couples were chosen from a pool of submitted photos and love stories, said the couples from eight states would marry Monday on the top floor of the Empire State Building, the New York Daily News reported Monday.
Patrick Davenport of Nashville, a groom set to marry girlfriend Jennifer Herring atop the building Monday, said his 2009 proposal on the 86th floor of the Empire State Building was almost foiled when the ring set off a metal detector.
Davenport said he secretly showed the ring to a guard and whispered, "I haven't asked her yet."
