Big Brother houseguest Michelle Meyer won the Power of Veto competition and ultimately decided to keep the week's eviction nominations the same during Wednesday night's broadcast on CBS.

Michelle's decision means that either Frank Eudy or Bridgette Dunning -- the two houseguests that had been nominated for eviction by Jason Huling, this week's Head of Household -- will be voted out of the Big Brother house by the remaining houseguests during Thursday night's live eviction show.

Big Brother 18's Wednesday night episode picked up where Sunday night's episode had left off -- on Day 38 with Frank and Bridgette realizing James had decided to break the deal he had made with Bridgette during the HoH competition and nominate the pair for eviction.

James rationalized his decision by saying he was doing what the entire house wanted.

"Your word is all you have in this house, so you definitely don't try and break it unless you absolutely have to," he explained afterwards. "I don't feel bad about the situation, you can bounce checks up in here.... I have the whole house behind me."

While Frank said he had envisioned the possibility James might break his deal with Bridgette, she took the news harder.

"James had given me his word that neither Frank or I would be going on the block," she said.  "I've just been blatantly lied to."

Later, the houseguests competed in the Power of Veto competition to determine who would earn the option to decide whether to veto one of James' nominations and take Frank or Bridgette off the chopping block.

In addition to James, Frank, and Bridgette, Michelle, Da.Vonne Rogers and Nicole Franzel were randomly drawn to compete in the PoV competition.

The PoV competition, which was the latest incarnation of Big Brother's classic "Otev" competition, required the six participating houseguests to scramble around the competition's lily pad set and find a record album prop that contained the correct answer to each round's question.

The questions required the houseguests to remember the name of one of the Big Brother season's prior competitions, and the last houseguest to return with the proper answer would be eliminated in each round.

James decided to deliberately throw the challenge and was the first houseguest eliminated. He was then followed by Da'Vonne and Nicole, leaving only Michelle standing between Frank or Bridgette winning the competition and being able to safe themselves from eviction.

However, Michelle was able to eliminate first Frank and then Bridgette in the competition's final two rounds, winning the week's PoV power.

Frank then immediately attempted to convince Michelle to ally with him and use the PoV to nominate Da'Vonne for eviction instead.

But James, Paul Abrahamian and the rest of the house's houseguests noticed his attempts to sway Michelle and called a "house meeting" in which they openly told Frank there was no support for his plan to oust Da'Vonne and the house wanted him out, causing him to appear to accept his fate.

"I mean I don't think it's cool to do it how it's going down -- bro, I was just going to pull you aside and be like, 'Hey man, the numbers aren't in your favor.  Like, stop making yourself look like an idiot,'" Paulie Calafiore told Frank as the rest of the house looked on. "It is what it is... sorry bro, it's going to come to no avail... I help seeing you try and it ain't going to work... one of you guys is going home.  You had to try for the game of Big Brother, and that's it."

"Yeah, you know I do," Frank replied.  "That's fine, that just means a lot of people just can't shoot straight with me. Thank you Paulie for having a backbone.  Thank you Da' for having a backbone."

Michelle then formally announced her decision at the Power of Veto meeting.

"I just want to say I respect James for his big move this week putting two huge targets on the block.  And I really do respect you Frank, the fact that you campaigned so hard. I'm not going to deny that I didn't think about using it, but I've decided not to use the Power of Veto."
