"TLC has canceled the series Here Comes Honey Boo Boo and ended all activities around the series, effective immediately," the network said in a media statement. "Supporting the health and welfare of these remarkable children is our only priority. TLC is faithfully committed to the children's ongoing comfort and well-being."

News of TLC pulling the plug on the show follows reports claiming show star June "Mama June" Shannon has been dating a convicted sex offender, Mark McDaniel, who had served time in jail about 10 years ago for allegedly molesting one of Shannon's own children.

Shannon posted a video on Facebook Friday morning confirming Here Comes Honey Boo Boo's cancellation. However, she firmly denied being involved with McDaniel, a registered sex offender as of March 2014.

"Just got a phone call this morning from TLC and as of right now there will be no more production of the show. The statement of me dating a sex offender is totally untrue. Pumpkin has openly said that I did not -- that I'm not dating him and also his son," Shannon explained.

"I would not ever, ever, ever put my kids in danger. I love my kids too much. That is my past. I have not seen that person in 10 years and don't seem to want to see that person."

A report about Shannon allegedly dating McDaniel first surfaced yesterday when TMZ claimed to have obtained a photo of Shannon and the man in question lying in a hotel room's bed together.

Despite denying the new relationship, Shannon confirmed things are over with her ex-boyfriend Mike "Sugar Bear" Thompson. They reportedly split in September after nearly a decade together.

"Me and Sugar have broken up, but we remain friends and are civil. We're better off friends than we were a couple," Shannon said in her Facebook video. "Things happen for a reason in life and you live and learn. We have to stay quiet for a while because TLC has told us to hush hush."

Shannon additionally thanked her fans for all their support and called her time on the reality series "an awesome experience."
