Here Comes Honey Boo Boo is not going to continue without Mike "Sugar Bear" Thompson although he's separated from show star June "Mama June" Shannon.

According to sources, producers want to keep Sugar Bear in the cast because, as Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson's biological father, he's vital to the show, TMZ reported.

The story line would be "ridiculously incomplete" without Sugar Bear, said the sources, adding that the couple's separation will become a major plot on Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.

"To tell the truth, it's good for the show," a source told TMZ. "It had hit a bit of a lull and now there are tons of story lines... dating, single parenting, breakups."

However, TLC is reportedly desperate to make sure the children aren't "emotionally bleeding" on-camera due to the split. The network had previously dealt with the destruction of Jon & Kate Plus 8 because Kate Gosselin and Jon Gosselin's divorce resulted in strife over how to raise their eight kids.

TLC plans to portray Mama June -- who has three other daughters, all older than Honey Boo Boo, from a previous relationship -- as the rock of the family going forward, a newly-single independent woman, according to TMZ.

Although never technically married, Mama June and Sugar Bear just announced their separation last week.

Mama June, according to E! News, ditched her wedding ring after learning Sugar Bear had been browsing some online dating websites. One profile in particular reportedly appeared to match Sugar Bear's description. It listed a "currently single" hunter, fisherman and four-wheel rider whose longest relationship lasted "over 10 years."

Mama June reportedly intends to take her children and move closer to her relatives once filming for the latest Here Comes Honey Boo Boo season wraps.

Here Comes Honey Boo Boo's fourth-season finale aired on August 14 on TLC.
