The New York Post is reporting that NBC is interested in filming a second season of "The Restaurant" with chef Rocco DiSpirito -- and apparently so is Rocco.

"There's an offer on the table," an NBC official told the Post, adding that NBC thinks DiSpirito is a "real star" who can sustain another run of the show.

"The Restaurant," which wraps its six-episode run this coming Sunday night, has followed the adventures of DiSpirito's new downtown restaurant, Rocco's on 22nd Street - which had only seven weeks to get up and running as opposed to the typical six months). The series has done well in the ratings for the network, drawing upwards of eight million viewers to its Sunday 10PM ET timeslot.

DiSpirito's interest in a second edition reportedly centers around his desire to rehab his image a bit and demonsrate that with enough time and forethought, the results might be different the second time around. "We had a dining room at times with 12 cameramen in there," he said. "And people still did things that you just can't believe they did on television. "Another thing I've definitely learned is to never be that ambitious and fearless again," he said. "Seven weeks! I really needed six months."
