After being nominated for eviction by Jee Choe, the second Head of Household, Michelle Maradie was evicted last night from the "Big Brother 4" house based on the votes of her fellow HouseGuests. Michele received more votes than fellow nominee Erika Landin. David Lane won the Power of Veto and chose to leave the nominations as they stood.

During last night's live broadcast, the college student from Boca Raton, Fla., learned her fate, said her good-byes and left the house. After leaving "Big Brother 4," Michelle was interviewed by Julie Chen about her experience.

Michelle received six of the eight votes for eviction from Houseguests Alison Irwin, David Lane, Nathan Marlow, Jack Owens, Jun Song and Dana Varela. Justin Giovinco and Robert Roman voted to keep Michelle and evict Erika. As Head of Household, Jee was ineligible to vote unless there had been a tie.

The HouseGuests compete each Wednesday to become Head of Household. The perks of the position include having a luxurious private bedroom stocked with favorite foods, but it also includes the responsibility of having to nominate two fellow housemates for eviction. However, one of the nominees can be saved from the chopping block if they or another housemate wins the Power of Veto competition and chooses to save one of the nominees while giving themselves immunity from nomination. If they choose to use the veto power, the Head of Household must immediately choose another nominee.
