FOX has announced that the third edition of its long-mothballed "Temptation Island" reality series will premiere Thursday, August 28 at 9-10 PM ET/PT. Television personality Mark Walberg returns to host the third installment of the one-hour series that chronicles the relationships of four couples seeking to challenge the strength of their love and trust on "Temptation Island."
The four couples embarking on this journey this time around are:
• Anthony, a sales manager, and Stephanie, a hairstylist/model, from Chicago, IL. Dating three years.
• Eric, a caterer, and Kristin, a student, from Farmville, VA. Dating three and one half years.
• Michael, a bartender/model, and Melissa, a promoter/model/former Miss New York, from Long Island, NY. Dating two years.
• Jason, a massage therapist, and Kara, a receptionist, from Las Vegas, NV. Dating one year.
In the tropical Caribbean paradise of the Bay Islands off the Central American Coast, these four couples from across the United States are joined in their island adventure by singles, 14 male and 14 female. Early on, the couples are separated and forbidden from speaking to one another until the final day of their stay, giving the fantasy singles an opportunity to spend time with each member of the couples.
During the series, each partner will have the opportunity to choose dream dates from the pool of 28 eligible singles and jet off on a series of romantic rendezvous throughout the island and on the mainland. During their stay, the couples are seeking answers to questions about themselves and their partners, and to find out what they think they want is actually what they do want. New loves will spark, some loves will rekindle, bonds will be tested and hearts may be broken -- all in the name of TEMPTATION.
Fox World, a production unit of Fox Television Studios, produces "Temptation Island" with Rocket Science Laboratories, LLC. Daniela Welteke is head of Fox World and Michael Shevloff serves as executive producer. Chris Cowan and Jean-Michel Michenaud serve as executive producers for Rocket Science Laboratories, LLC.

RealityTVWorld.com today announced the opening of the nomination period for the 2003 Blowie Awards. Now in their second year, the Blowie Awards are annually awarded to outstanding performances and situations in reality television programming. The twenty two Blowie Award categories range from serious to frivolous; in addition to awards for outstanding accomplishments, there are also awards for worst mistakes and a heavy serving of humor in some of the lesser categories.
The open nomination period will continue until March 24, 2003 at midnight ET. Any registered RealityTVWorld message board user may make a nomination. Following the open nomination period, the Blowie Awards Committee will determine which nominees will appear on each award's public ballot. Between 3-5 nominees will be selected for each category. Once the ballot is finalized, the 2003 RealityTVWorld Blowie Awards will be opened for voting by all website visitors. Voting will remain open for a pre-determined time period, then the ballots will be closed, the results tabulated, and the winners announced. Each user will only be allowed one vote. During last year's 2002 Blowie Awards, CBS led all networks with 69 nominations out of a total of 115. Fox placed a distant second with 29, followed by USA with 6. NBC and ABC managed only 4 nominations each, and three of the five nominees for the "Worst Overall Show" aired aired on those networks. UPN, VH1 and MTV each managed to record one nomination.

FOX announces the return of 'Temptation Island 3,' begins casting - Reported by: Admin on 02-07-2003
E! Online reports that FOX has decided to take another chance on the granddaddy relationship train wreck reality series of them all -- "Temptation Island!" FOX announced the pickup of "Temptation Island 3" today and casting for couples and singles will get under way in Los Angeles on Friday before going national later this month (see furhter below for full casting details.) So far FOX is keeping quiet on the filming location. Additionally, no air date has been announced and it's not known if host Mark Walberg will return.
"Temptation Island," which was FOX's original reality hit and was created by the same producers as FOX's current "Joe Millionaire" series, fell on hard times after it's Fall 2001 second edition bombed in the ratings and plans for additional editions were scrapped. However, with the reality craze in full bloom, FOX has apparently decided to take another stab at the show, which as bad as it performed in its second go around, was a smash hit in its initial run. Defenders of the series point out that "Temptation's" second season was hampered by a tough Thursday timeslot and having to premiere in the wake of 9/11, so we'll see how it makes out this time.

'Temptation Island 2' tempter Tony resigns teaching position due to gay porno appearance - Reported by: Admin on 10-13-2002
Anthony Vanchieri, the "Temptation Island 2" male tempter and elementary school teacher who appeared in gay pornographic videos, has abandoned his fight to keep his job. Vanchieri quietly resigned on September 9th, but it was made public only this month because the Broward School Board in Florida will formally accept his request on October 15th.
The board suspended Vanchieri on June 18th as the first step toward firing him for "disgracing the profession." But Vanchieri said he would fight the suspension in an administrative hearing. "They are seeking to terminate him based on actions taken in his private life which have no direct impact on his ability to teach and had nothing to do with his profession as a teacher," Vanchieri's attorney, Steve Rossi, had argued.
Vanchieri still opposes any action by the state board of education to withdraw his teaching license, although he is not sure he will keep teaching, Rossi said.

Gay.com reports that in court records released last week, former 'Tempation Island 2' tempter Tony Vanchieri, 27, a gym teacher in Broward County, Fla. who appeared in a gay porn movie, claims he was misled into believing the video was for modeling scouts. Vanchieri was put on desk duty after MSNBC published a story on its Web site in December that Vanchieri was in the porn video "Solo Guys: Volume 1" (a story that we also reported on when it occurred.)
In records released to the public on July 19, Vanchieri tells a court investigator he had been drugged at a party in West Palm Beach and unwittingly became a part of the porn video there. He said he attended the party after getting a call back from an ad searching for models. There Vanchieri said a producer gave him a pill and then asked him to pose as a pool boy wrestling with a homeowner for a video. According to the record, Vanchieri said he was led to believe the tape would be sent to Los Angeles for sports modeling jobs. He said he only got concerned when the producer asked him to fake oral sex.
The documents said Vanchieri got a $200 traveler's check and the producer had him sign "something." Later in the video Vanchieri appears nude. There is also video of the teacher taking off his underwear. Vanchieri was not available for comment. In June, the Broward school board recommended Vanchieri be fired for the appearance. Vanchieri appealed the recommendation, asking for a hearing with an administrative law judge.
