Airdate Schedule News : NBC delays reality TV show hosted by BB2 winner Will Kirby until mideseason
Big Brother 2 Reuters reports that NBC has boarded up its "Love Shack" until midseason.

The reality series hosted by "Big Brother 2" winner Will Kirby was originally set to premiere on August 26th, but with other summer entries such as "Dog Eat Dog" performing better than expected, network executives decided they could wait on "Shack."

"Love Shack," follows a single man and single woman who compete against each other for a shot at winning a one-year lease on a California beach house. NBC has ordered six episodes of "Shack," which was set to air Tuesdays at 8 p.m. starting with its second episode. Reruns of "The Rerun Show" will air there instead. "We've had a lot of success this summer, and frankly, don't need it," said Jeff Gaspin, executive VP of alternative series, specials, longform and program strategy.

"We don't need it" -- ouch Will, now $500,000 winner or not, that's got to hurt...

BB2 winner 'Evil Will' to host NBC's 'Love Shack' reality show
Big Brother 2 Dr. Evil is returning to network television. Will Kirby, the crafty winner of "Big Brother 2" last year, has been named as the host for the new NBC reality show "Love Shack".

"Love Shack" centres around one single man and one single woman who move into a Southern California mansion on a quest to find true love while competing against each other to win a one-year lease on a California beach house. "Love Shack" is a six episode limited run series. The preview episode will be followed by the series premiere on Tuesday, Aug. 27, (8-9 p.m. ET) on NBC.

His appointment as host of "Love Shack" marks Will Kirby's first professional television job. When he made his appearance last year on "Big Brother 2," Kirby was an amateur, an internal medicine doctor looking to make a career change. The media attention he garnered while earning the nickname "Dr. Evil," and his subsequent victory on the show, helped make that possible. Although Kirby was recently passed the medical boards in California, he has focused his energies on the entertainment business. He spent the last year in Hollywood writing and developing reality series and feature film projects, which he is now selling to the networks and studios. Along with writing, Will has been studying acting and making fans in NY and LA through his auditions.

Former BB2 contestant Krista suing CBS over 'The Knife Incident'
Big Brother 2 The Daily Advertiser is reporting that former 'Big Brother 2' contestant Krista Stegall has sued CBS over an incident in which another contestant held a knife to her throat last year.

The lawsuit, filed by last week in Orleans Parish, LA, seeks unspecified damages from CBS Broadcasting and the companies that produced the show. The lawsuit seeks damages for negligence on the part of CBS and the producers, pain and suffering, mental anguish, medical bills, mental impairment and loss of enjoyment of life.

Stegall contends in the lawsuit that Justin Sebik, who put a knife to Stegall's throat while kissing her and asked if she would be mad "if I killed you," should not have been selected to live in the house because he had prior arrests on assault charges. "By failing to do a proper background check they placed all of the house guests, including Krista, in danger," said Stegall's attorney, Clayton Burgess.

Monica's Cousin Among Those Missing in WTC Attack
Big Brother 2 Variety is reporting that one of Monica's cousin remained unaccounted for in New York late Wednesday. Monica has been kept up to date on the situation, said 'Big Brother' executive producer Arnold Shapiro.

"All of us are praying for and having positive thoughts about Monica's cousin being found alive and well," he said.

Impact OF WTC Tragedy On 'Big Brother 2' Still Unclear
Big Brother 2 In the wake of Tuesday's tragedy, ripples of change continue to spread throughout the television industry.

The three remaining houseguests of in-progress reality show Big Brother 2 -- Will, Monica and Nicole -- were informed that a terrorist attack on the World Trade Center occurred, but it's unclear how much information the contestants were given. Monica, who lives in Brooklyn, was apparently told that her family members and friends were okay, but snippets from the show's subscription-based Internet feeds suggest that the housemates were not told the extent of the tragedies.

''Big Brother'' serves free slice of ``Pie 2''
Big Brother 2 Tuesday night's episode of ``Big Brother 2'' appeared to take the concept of prime-time product placement to a new level -- at least at first glance.

A so-called ``luxury challenge'' on Tuesday's segment had the ``Big Brother'' house guests competing for a shot at a screening of Universal Picture's ``American Pie 2.'' To win the prize, the players had to break through a block of ice and grab a ticket frozen in the middle.

The word ``blockbuster'' was mentioned several times during the competition. Then, immediately following the end of the segment, CBS broadcast a 30-second commercial for Blockbuster Video -- a corporate cousin of the network. Later in the show, producers aired about 10 seconds of the film's trailer. While the segment seemed to be a well-designed plug for Blockbuster and ``Pie,'' a CBS representative and ``Big Brother'' executive producer Arnold Shapiro both said no money changed hands.

``It's coincidental synergy,'' a CBS spokesman said of the contest's ``blockbuster'' theme, noting that the word ``blockbuster'' is a fairly common adjective for a hit movie.

No HoH and Eviction This Week Due to Justin's Explusion
Big Brother 2 In case anyone is wondering, this is the week during which the producers have decided to skip the Head Of Household and eviction process (due to Justin's ejection earlier in the season.)

The competition and eviction process will resume next week as normal. It is not currently known who, if anyone, gets the use of the HoH room during this period.

Krista Denies Knowledge Of Knife Incident
Big Brother 2 Krista continues to be a fool and totally miss the point -- what a wonderful mother she must be. Hopefully she'll soon realize how dumb she's coming across and just shut her mouth.

Interviewed Friday morning on CBS's 'The Early Show', the waitress and single mother from Opelousas, Louisiana, told host Hattie Kauffman that she has no memory of the incident that prompted 'Big Brother 2' producers to remove Sebik from the show in July.

"When Julie asked me about this, I had no recollection of what she was talking about because we were basically joking around," Krista said. "They (the producers) blew that completely out of proportion. Justin is just a fun guy. I really don't have the memory of the knife. Maybe my eyes were closed at the time, but I never viewed him as a threat. So it wasn't part of my strategy. I just didn't remember it."

Airdate Schedule News : 'Big Brother' Gets Later Curfew
Big Brother 2 The action on "Big Brother 2" has become a little too racy for the 8 p.m. hour for the Tiffany network.

CBS is moving the reality show back to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday as of next week. The show, which trains cameras and microphones on a group of house-bound contestants, has featured sexually charged banter and suggestive behavior by the housemates in recent weeks.

CBS brass said Wednesday's release of the Parents Television Council study citing the rise of raunchy material in the so-called family hour had no bearing whatsoever on their decision to switch time slots. "Big Brother 2" began its summer run July 5 and will wrap in mid-September.

CBS: "Reality Shows Are Worth the Risk"
Big Brother 2 PASADENA, Calif. (AP) -- Reality shows like ''Big Brother,'' in which one contestant pulled a knife on another, are risky but represent an effort to try something different, CBS executives said Tuesday.

''I'm tired of putting on 'Diagnosis Murder' reruns in the summer. There's a quest to put on new forms of programming,'' CBS President Leslie Moonves told the Television Critics Association.

Under sharp questioning, Moonves said the network believes ''Big Brother'' is worthwhile but does require vigilance.

Booze, Brawls Barely Bump "Big Bro"
Big Brother 2 What do you people want, blood?

For all the controversy generated this week from Big Brother 2, CBS scored only a lukewarm 9.2 million viewers Thursday night, as 26-year-old New Jersey bartender Justin Sebik held a carving knife to the throat of fellow roommate Krista Stegall during a boozy (and dare we say, freaky) romantic encounter.

The voyeuristic series managed to win its time period--beating out both Friends and Spy TV--but it still only drew about a half-million more viewers than its premiere last week.

'Big Brother' Contestant Had Record
Big Brother 2 NEW YORK (AP) -- The contestant thrown off CBS' ''Big Brother'' last week for holding a knife to a woman's throat had a record of three assault charges in his hometown.

Sebik's past includes an arrest for assault June 19, 1996, said Jenny Mishane, Bayonne Municipal Court administrator. He also was charged with two counts of assault and two counts of theft on April 2, 1997. She had no details on the cases. All were dismissed on Dec. 16, 1997.
