Entertainment Weekly recently reported that CBS CEO Leslie Moonves is working on an all-star ''Big Brother'' to air as early as October. He hopes to feature higher-watt personalities than, say, Barry Williams or Danny Bonaduce (who both appeared on Fox's ''Celebrity Boxing'' special last season).
''People want to do this,'' insists Moonves, adding that he's already secured commitments from certain celebs -- but he declines to name names.

After being one of the final two remaining HouseGuests with Danielle Reyes, Lisa Donahue emerged triumphant last night as BIG BROTHER 3’s grand prize-winner of $500,000 based on the votes of her former housemates. As the second place winner, Danielle receives $50,000. Lisa is the first woman to win the grand prize in three seasons of BIG BROTHER. Eddie McGee from New York won in season one and Will Kirby from Miami emerged the winner in season two.
After living in the Big Brother 3 house for 82 days, Lisa, from Los Angeles, and Danielle, from Fairfield, Calif., faced a jury consisting of all 10 of their former housemates: Roddy Mancuso, Lori Olson, Marcellas Reynolds, Tonya Paoni, Jason Guy, Chiara Berti, Gerry Lancaster, Amy Crews, Eric Oullette and Josh Feinberg. After each of the jury members had the chance to ask the finalists questions, the previously-evicted HouseGuests re-entered the house and revealed their votes for whom they wanted to win. Jason, Danielle’s steadfast partner throughout the game, was the only HouseGuest to vote for her to win. The nine others voted for Lisa, making her the grand prize-winner of $500,000 by a vote of nine to one.
After leaving BIG BROTHER 3, Lisa and Danielle were interviewed by Julie Chen about their experiences. Following their interviews, Lisa was reunited with her father, Michael Donahue, Sr., and Danielle was met by her husband, Javier, and her daughters, Paxton and Christiane.

After being nominated for eviction by Danielle Reyes, the tenth Head of Household, Amy Crews was again evicted from the BIG BROTHER 3 house based on the vote of her fellow HouseGuest, Jason Guy. Amy was also the third to be evicted from the house on Aug. 1, but was voted back into the house on Aug. 15 in a surprise twist in the game.
During last night’s live show, Jason, who was the only HouseGuest eligible to vote, chose to evict Amy instead of her fellow nominee, Lisa Donahue. Following her interview, she was reunited with her mother, Fay, and her dog, Bucky.
Following Amy’s departure, the Final Three HouseGuests competed in a special two-part Head of Household competition. The winner of the game will be revealed on a special live broadcast of BIG BROTHER 3 Saturday, Sept. 21 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) that will also feature the tenth and final eviction. The finale of BIG BROTHER 3 will be broadcast on Wednesday, Sept. 25 (9:00-10:00 PM) when the jury consisting of all the previously evicted HouseGuests will vote to determine who will win $500,000.

After being nominated for eviction by Jason Guy, the ninth Head of Household, Marcellas Reynolds was evicted from the BIG BROTHER 3 house based on the votes of his fellow HouseGuests.
During last night’s first ever live veto meeting, Marcellas, who won the Golden Power of Veto, enabling him to remove himself from the block, stunned his housemates when he decided not to use it to save himself from eviction. After this surprise revelation, Danielle Reyes and Lisa Donahue immediately proceeded with a live vote. Danielle voted to evict Marcellas, while Lisa voted to evict Amy. This resulted in a tie, forcing Jason, as Head of Household, to cast the deciding vote. Jason ultimately voted to evict Marcellas from the Big Brother House.
After Marcellas, the fashion stylist from Chicago, learned his fate, he said his good-byes, left the house and was interviewed by Julie Chen about his experience. Following Marcellas’s departure, the Final Four HouseGuests competed to become the next Head of Household. Danielle won the game to become the tenth Head of Household.

TheDay.com reports that “Big Brother 3” houseguest Eric Ouellette has been suspended from his job as a Poquonnock Bridge firefighter for two weeks. Ouellette said he received a letter from Poquonnock Bridge Chief Todd Paige informing him of the suspension Saturday.
“I was surprised but at the same time I had heard rumors of possible disciplinary action against me, so it was a bit of a nonsurprise,” he said Sunday night. Ouellette said he does not believe the suspension is fair. “I believe I was entitled to the opportunity based on the contract. I'm not the type of person that wants to go against authority, but I believe I'm entitled to the opportunities that are governed by our contract,” he said.
Ouellette, 27, said he would appeal the suspension. Union president Tom Eldredge said the Board of Fire Commissioners would set a date for the hearing and then decide whether to uphold, modify or repeal Paige's suspension. Eldredge said that until Saturday there had only been rumors of disciplinary action against Ouellette.

Another season of 'Big Brother' is here and with it have come the inevitable allegations of the producer's "selective editing." Jam! Showbiz reports that among this season's unaired big controversies is that that right after Marcellas' and Amy's nominations were announced by Roddy, Amy and Marcellas were so upset that they threatened to leave the show immediately.
According to Jam!, it was an emotional discussion that ended when they contemplated leaving together as a voluntary walkout. Eventually, cooler heads prevailed on the live feeds and the producers managed to convince Reynolds and Crews to stay following a 45 minute meeting in the Diary Room. Reynolds later warned some of his fellow HouseGuests afterwards of the consequences of walking out of the show.
"If you consider leaving, it is not a good idea. They own you," said Reynolds. Reynolds went on to describe how the producers wouldn't pay for their trip home and that he and Crews would not be part of any publicity surrounding the show if they left the game voluntarily.
Other examples of the selective editing cited by Jam! include:

BanishJosh.com is claiming to have gotten a reply from Josh's Los Angeles roomate regarding the Hermando Today newspaper's earlier report about Josh's of personal injury lawsuit. While the details of this issue obviously are a matter of debate -- one issue certainly doesn't seem to be, namely that once again CBS is making liberal use of the contestants reputed "place of residence." Previously living in Florida... currently living in Los Angeles and working at Dodger Stadium -- clearly Josh isn't recently residing anywhere near Long Island, New York.
"I live with Josh in Los Angeles. The information in the Florida Newspaper that was cited in the article about the 'BB3 houseguests' legal battles' is INCORRECT. Josh was permanently injured in front of the Winn Dixie. The knee brace josh wears on the show IS a real knee brace and it does serve a purpose. Having lived with Josh for almost two years now in a small two bedroom apartment and watching him struggle with broken down cars and borrowing money from me, I assure you he did not receive any settlements for anywhere near $80,000. That's ludicrous. The settlement he got was $1,500 for medical reimbursement."

In what is sure to be a real stunning development to any viewers who have watched Big Brother 3 contestant Amy Crews continually on camera with an alcoholic beverage in hand, TheSmokingGun.com has reported that Chiara Berti isn't the only Big Brother 3 contestant who knows what it's like to get nailed for drunk driving and other crimes.
The Smoking Gun reports that Amy Crews, 24, was arrested in February 1999 and charged with driving while intoxicated after crashing her Toyota in a one-car accident near her Arkansas home. According to police reports, Crews's car struck a concrete mailbox, rolled onto its roof, and slid for 25 yards before stopping. When cops arrived at 3:30 AM, Crews not only failed a field sobriety test, but registered a .14 on a breathalyzer machine (in 1999, the Arkansas legal limit was a blood alcohol content of .10).
At the time of her DWI arrest, Crews was 20. Since 1935, the legal drinking age in Arkansas has been 21. In March 1999, Crews pleaded no contest in Crittenden County District Court to the misdemeanor DWI charge. She was hit with a one-year suspended jail term, fined $1000, directed to pay court costs of $300, and ordered to attend alcohol safety school and an alcohol education class.

Amy received a unanimous vote for eviction from fellow HouseGuests Eric Ouellette, Roddy Mancuso, Danielle Reyes, Gerald Lancaster, Chiara Berti, Josh Feinberg and Lisa Donahue. As Head of Household, Roddy was ineligible to vote.

In an interview with the Las Vegas Review-Journal, David Lee, the current boyfriend of evicted Big Brother 3 houseguest Tanya, has confirmed that the evicted Big Brother 3 houseguests are apparently being sequestered in the Los Angeles area. This action has added fuel to the rumors of plans to have one or more evicted houseguests return to the house at a later date.
According to Lee, Paoni will remain sequestered in the Los Angeles area for an indefinite period of time. "She's allowed two 10 minute calls a week. She can't say anything about the game. All of our calls are monitored. It's worse than the CIA."

In a move that only proves that media whores apparently are attracted to other true media whores, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that David Lee, an art gallery salesman at Caesars Palace and longtime boyfriend of "several months" of ousted houseguest Tanya Paoni has apparently made it his one man mission to "accept every media request for interviews" in an effort to not only give the public "a truer picture of Tanya" but also to conveniently plaster his mug and name where ever possible.
"I'm one man out there against the world, saying it's a bunch of lies," says Lee. According to Lee, "the real Tonya is "a very sweet person who loves her kids." And of course who could doubt him -- after all, as he mentioned during his 15 seconds of aired Big Brother footage, he's been seeing the still separated by not divorced Tonya all of "several months." Anyone else want to bet that once the cameras media stops watching, their relationship rings as true as that of Krista and Mike???
One person who Lee apparently won't convince is Paoni's first husband, Darren Bakunas of Springfield, Ill. Bakunas, who had three children (ages 13, 12 and 10) with Tonya, said his ex-wife was far from the dedicated mom she made herself out to be during her stay on the show. "She went almost two years without seeing our kids. "She's so fake ... so phony," Tonya's second husband, Manus Paoni, has filed for divorce and is seeking custody of and child support for their two children.

The Florida newspaper 'Hernando Today' has reported that Big Brother 3 contestant Josh Feinberg was immediately recognized by former Hernando County jurors when he began appearing on the CBS reality show because of a suit he had against a local Winn Dixie supermarket when he resided in the area.
"It's definitely him," says Robert Knowles of Brooksville. "None of us on the jury believed a word he said."
The jurors awarded Feinberg $15,000 in damages for claims he was permanently injured when he stumbled in a small hole in the sidewalk of the former Winn Dixie supermarket in the Western Way Plaza in 1997. Feinberg sought much more. When the mishap occurred, Feinberg was a waiter at the Spring Hill Pizza Hut. He had moved to New York by the time his case reached trial in 1998. He now lives in Queens, N.Y., where he is still working as a waiter.
The jurors didn't know during three days of trial that two defendants had already settled with Feinberg for more than $80,000. When the jurors awarded him $15,000, they also decided Winn Dixie was only 10 percent responsible for Feinberg's injuries. The store wound up paying only $1,500.

The Assoccaited Press reports that CBS spokesman Chris Ender admitted on Monday that CBS knew about Chiara's arrest for drunken driving weeks before the reality show went on the air but none the less opted to keep her in the show's cast. "On the bright side, she won't be doing any driving in the house," Ender said.
According ton Ender, Berti, who lives in New York City, was in Los Angeles waiting to hear whether she would be selected for the show when she was arrested
Berti was to be arraigned in Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday--when she was in the ``Big Brother'' house--but her lawyer persuaded a judge to reschedule Berti's arraignment for September 3rd. If Berti is still in the game at that point, it would force CBS to either disqualify her or allow her leave the house temporarily for the proceeding, Ender said.

Jam! Showbiz reports that "Big Brother 3" HouseGuest Eric Ouellette will still have a career when he exits the CBS reality show -- although a disciplinary hearing awaits him when he gets out.
Four misconduct charges have been leveled against the 27 year-old firefighter from Clinton, Connecticut, who swapped 22 shifts with his workmates so he could be on the reality show. The Day of New London newspaper reports today that the disciplinary hearing held yesterday afternoon was postponed as Ouellette could not be in attendance as he is sequestered in the "Big Brother" house until he is evicted by the other players or the show ends in September.
Fire Department officials accuse Ouellette of "willful misconduct involving several violations of the (department's) rules and regulations and the labor agreement" due to his extended absence. According to The Day, the charges included in the complaint are "insubordination for disregarding the chief's directive to limit his absence to no more than 30 days; willful use of position for personal gain; disrupting fire department daily activities; and failure to inform the chief of the firefighter's whereabouts and availability".

TheSmokingGun.com has reported that "Big Brother 3" contestant Chiara was arrested in late-May for drunk driving. In fact, while the pending criminal case against contestant Chiara Berti was scheduled for arraignment last Friday morning (7/19) in Los Angeles Superior Court, the 25-year-old New York woman was ensconced with her fellow cast mates in the Big Brother house on the grounds of CBS's Studio City compound, just six-miles--and 13 minutes--from the Van Nuys courthouse where Berti's case was called at 9:35 AM.
Berti was arrested by California Highway Patrol officers at 2:40 AM on Sunday, May 26. She spent about five hours in custody at the Van Nuys jail before being released on $2500 bail. On June 11, Berti was formally charged with three misdemeanors: driving under the influence, driving with a blood alcohol content above California's .08 limit, and driving without a license. Her attorney, Sherman Ellison, said he believed Berti got arrested while she was in Los Angeles for the final stages of the Big Brother audition/screening process.

Reuters reports that in the biggest ratings matchup yet between marquee "reality" shows this summer, the CBS premiere of "Big Brother 3" went up against "American Idol" on Fox and came out on top -- but not by much.
According to figures on Thursday from Nielsen Media Research, the latest group of CBS "house guests" were No. 1 in household ratings and total audience in their 9 p.m. Wednesday debut opposite Fox's teen idol wannabes. However, the margin of victory was fairly slim by both measures -- 6.0 to 5.3 in the ratings, and 9.2 million vs. 9 million in average number of viewers.
In the key demographic of adult viewers under 50, the group most prized by advertisers, CBS and Fox were tied with a 4.1 rating. Furthermore, "American Idol" bested "Big Brother" in two other young demographics -- teen viewers and adults 18-34 -- that make up Fox network's target audience for its show.
The shows will not normally air head-to-head. This week's direct match-up came because Fox's normal hour-long installment of "Idol" on Tuesday was preempted by baseball. Rival reality show, NBC's stunt-oriented "Dog Eat Dog," ranks No. 3 for the summer in the adults-under-50 crowd.

CBS.com has released it's 'Fantasy Big Brother' online game and registration is now open.
After registering a team, game players select four houseguests for their team roster. Players then gain or lose points based on such housguest behaviors such as Head Of Household victories, winning food competitions, eviction nominations, displays of affection, crying, pointing the finger, sharing a bed, appearing in a towel, and doing "high-fives."
Roster can be changed at any time. As an additional penalty, if a houseguest on your team roster is evicted, your team continued play with one fewer roster spot.
Given the facts that only footage seen on airing episodes qualifies for points and that according to CBS.com, rosters only "freeze" just before the East Coast airings of episodes on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, it appears that LIVE FEED information will likely prove an invaluable asset to serious game players.

Geez, stuff like this never happens with 'Survivor,' apparently this just proves what second-rate reality TV fare it is that CBS is serving up this summer.
In what can only be considered a head-scratching event, Entertainment Weekly's EW.com website released an online feature the morning of July 4th that detailed the names, ages, place of residence, martial status, and headshot photos of the twelve 'Big Brother 3' houseguests. This action leaves CBS in the position of having had it's own CBS Network's 'The Early Show' and CBS.com 'Big Brother 3' websites "scooped" on the announcement as CBS had previously publicized that the cast would be revealed on Friday, July 5th during the 7-9AM EST 'The Early Show' broadcast and release of the CBS.com 'Big Brother 3' website. But apparently someone over at EW.com failed to get the memo.

Zap2It.com reports that starting Monday, July 8, 'Big Brother 3' viewers will be able to play "Fantasy Big Brother," a variation on fantasy sports games in which players score points based on what they do inside the 'Big Brother 3' house.
Each player will choose four 'Big Brother 3' contestants for his or her team. Players accumulate points in 10 categories based on what their team members do on the three broadcasts each week. Points will be awarded for winning food challenges and being named head of household, as well as in other categories such as crying, wearing a towel and showing affection with others.
Fantasy Big Brother players will also be able to trade houseguests who aren't nominated for elimination at any time except during the hours the show airs on both coasts.

'Big Brother 3' producer Arnold Shapiro has told Jam! Showbiz that CBS and Real Networks will once again be providing 24-hour Web feeds to the 'Big Brother' house (for a fee of course -- the "free Internet" days are long gone.)
According to Shapiro, an official announcement will be made when the official CBS 'Big Brother 3' Internet site is launched. At that time the closely guarded identities of the 'Big Brother 3' contestants will also be revealed.
"We're so focused getting the show ready that the last thing on our minds has been the Internet but I believe there is going to be an announcement next week about the specifics of what the Internet service will be," said Shapiro.

The NY Post reports that 'Big Brother 3' will have several "plane-spotters" on staff this summer to keep an eye out for small airplanes dragging large banners with personal messages to the show's contestants.
"If we see a contestant looking up at one of those banners this season, it could end up getting them expelled from the house," 'Big Brother 3' executive producer Arnold Shapiro told The Post.
The plane spotters, equipped with radios will be situated somewhere near the "Big Brother" house and will radio ahead to producers if one of the banner planes seems to be headed for "Big Brother" airspace. "We'll know when they're about a mile out," Shapiro said. If the show's contestants are outside the house in its walled-off backyard, they'll be asked to go inside without looking up.

According to Zap2It.com, Big Brother executive producer Arnold Shapiro, who helped revamp the show last summer along with producer Allison Grodner, has some new tricks up his sleeve this time around. While retaining most of the features from last time, they "have thrown in just a few twists and turns, just a few new roadblocks in terms of our rules and format so that the people coming into the house who have worked out a perfect strategy -- and believe me, all of them think they have -- are in for a few surprises."
Host Julie Chen will still be on hand to serve as the house guests conduit to the outside world, but the food and immunity challenges (not the show's strong suit) will be more competitive, resulting in there definitely being "the haves and the have nots," according to Grodner.
In addition, a previous loophole has been closed making any smoking residents responsible for rationing their cigarette supply to last for the duration since no surplus packs will find a way into their pockets -- no matter what they promise the guards.

CBS announced today that it is taking applications for "Big Brother 3."
Applications are available at CBS.com. Would-be contestants also have to send two color photos of themselves and a two-minute video explaining why they should be on the show. All materials are due Friday, April 5.
The 69-question application asks for the usual background information, as well as previous arrests -- "Big Brother 2" contestant Justin Sebik's multiple assault arrests didn't come to light till after he was booted for holding a knife to another contestant's throat last year -- what strategy you would use to win the game and whether you have "acting, singing or performing aspirations."
"The Early Show's" Julie Chen will return as host of "Big Brother 3." Arnold Shapiro and Allison Grodner are the executive producers. "Big Brother 3" will air in Summer 2002.
So far there's no word on any game changes.
