The 51-year-old former Dance Moms star went under the knife Tuesday at 1AM on her spinal cord, Extra reported.

Orthopedic spine surgeon Dr. Hooman Melamed of Marina del Rey, CA, reportedly treated Abby after she had been complaining of back pain for a couple of weeks.

An MRI test revealed Abby had an infection in her spine that could result in paralysis if left untreated, according to Extra. Immediate surgery was therefore required.

Abby reportedly had the procedure done just one week after being hospitalized for a thyroid condition.

The former reality TV star and dance instructor left her halfway house in order to attend to her health crisis.

Abby was released from the Victorville Federal Correctional Institution in California on March 27 after eight months in prison.

Abby pleaded guilty to bankruptcy fraud in Pittsburgh, PA, in June 2016, and then in May 2017, she was sentenced to one year and one day behind bars.

She agreed to stay in the Residential Reentry Center in Long Beach under strict guidelines and supervision following her release.

TMZ reported Abby will be able to move out of the halfway house on May 25, 2018.

Despite her sudden surgery, Abby has been looking and seemingly feeling great. She lost an incredible amount of weight since undergoing gastric bypass surgery in April 2017. Entertainment Tonight reported in late January she had lost about 100 pounds.
