Boy Band switched up the boys into three new groups for a series of performances before America voted to eliminate Dorian Tyler from the running during Thursday night's episode on ABC.

After a night of great performances, home viewers voted to oust Dorian, a 15-year-old from Memphis, TN, from Boy Band after the show's architects -- Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter, Spice Girls member Emma Bunton, and music producer Timbaland -- determined he should be in jeopardy along with Jay "J Hype" Gilbert, a 14-year-old beatboxer from Las Vegas, NV.

Dorian fell into the bottom two because the architects believe he lacked emotional maturity and may not be ready for the cutthroat music industry just yet. Timbaland explained that Dorian needs to work on pronouncing his words when singing as well.

Dorian performed "True Colors" with his new group called Next Up. The band also featured Mikey Jimenez, a 17-year-old from East Los Angeles, CA; Brady Tutton, a 15-year-old from Shorewood, WI; and Jaden Gray, a 16-year-old from Hawthorne, CA.

J Hype was also up for elimination because while he's a talented boy and an incredible beatboxer, he was falling behind the rest of the competition vocally. Given there's only five weeks left of the show, Nick said he's worried J Hype may not have the time to catch up.

America ultimately texted to save J Hype, who sang "Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You" with his new group called Maxed, which was also comprised of Sergio Calderon, a 16-year-old from Redwood City, CA; Drew Ramos, a 19-year-old from Bronx, NY; Devin Hayes, a 17-year-old from Springfield, IL; and Cam Jackson, a 19-year-old from Willingboro, NJ.

Emma called Drew the "dark horse" of the competition, admitting the architects haven't paid enough attention to him so far this season. Emma said Drew's confidence shined and he held the whole song together with his vocals, adding that his range is remarkable.

The architects admitted Brady is one of the favorite boys week to week because the tone of his voice is so angelic and he also has excellent stage presence.

The group to perform the best last night was granted immunity from elimination, and that group was Timeless, who sang "Living On A Prayer."

Timeless was comprised of Michael Conor, a 17-year-old from Cleveland, OH; Chance Perez, a 19-year-old from Seal Beach, CA; Andrew Butcher, a 17-year-old from Greenwood, IN; Andrew Bloom, a 19-year-old from Yorba Linda, CA; and Marcus Pendleton, a 16-year-old from Nashville, TN.

For each episode, the architects shuffle contestants to find the best combination of voices to perform for America.

After critiquing each band's performance, the architects must collectively determine the two contestants who are up for elimination each week, and then America texts to save one of the boys. As the show gets further down the road, the bottom-two boys will sing "survival" songs for home viewers before voting commences.

Boy Band's final and official group will win a recording contract with Hollywood Records, and in the finale, America's favorite five band members will debut and perform a brand new single together for the first time.
