Nick Gordon has been ordered by a judge to pay up big time in Bobbi Kristina Brown's wrongful death civil lawsuit that was filed last year, and her father Bobby Brown is thrilled.

Fulton County Superior Court Judge T. Jackson Bedford awarded Brown's estate $36,250,000 in damages on Thursday, Us Weekly reported, but Gordon -- who has not been criminally charged in the case -- was not present for the verdict.

"I am pleased with the outcome of today's court proceedings. I do know that Mr. Gordon will be unable to slander my daughter's name in the future or obtain any benefits from the use of Krissy's name," Bobby told Us in a statement.

"Finally, I do need for the District Attorney's Office to step up and begin the criminal prosecution of Mr. Gordon. The delay in that matter is of great concern to me and my family. We need for District Attorney Howard to act now."

Bobbi Kristina, daughter of the late Whitney Houston, was found face down and unresponsive in her home's bathtub in January 2015 -- circumstances eerily similar to her mother's 2012 death.

The Brown family embraced their faith and tried everything possible to revive her, but she passed away in July of that year at age 22 when she was taken off life support following a six-month medically induced coma.

As previously reported, the boyfriend of Bobby Kristina at the time of her death was found "legally responsible" in the case back in September after Gordon failed to appear in court for two hearings, which means the court-appointed conservator of Brown's estate, Bedelia Hargrove, won by default.

Bobby's attorney Christopher Brown said in his own statement on Thursday: "We have said all along that Nick Gordon was responsible for the death of Bobbi Kristina Brown and the harm of losing a child is immeasurable."

In legal paperwork related to the lawsuit, Hargrove alleged Gordon "injected" Bobbi Kristina with a "toxic mixture" during a "violent altercation" at their shared home on January 31, 2015. He then allegedly placed her, unconscious, in the bathtub filled with cold water.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner disclosed in early March that Bobbi Kristina died from hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy and lobar pneumonia caused by water immersion and mixed-drug intoxication when she was found in the bathtub. Her toxicology report later revealed a mix of drugs were in her system at the time.

Gordon's camp has maintained he's innocent of any wrongdoing from the start. His legal team said in a March statement obtained by the magazine the lawsuit is "slanderous" and "meritless."

"Nick has been heartbroken and destroyed over the loss of his love," said his team, "and it's shameful that such baseless allegations have been presented publicly. Nick has engaged civil counsel and intends to defend the lawsuit vigorously and expose it for what it is: a fictitious assault against the person who loved Krissy most."
