Dancing with the Stars eliminated Amber Rose and her professional partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy during Monday night's Season 23 performance show on ABC.

Maksim and the model and talk show host became the fifth couple eliminated from the competition based on the combination of Dancing with the Stars judges' scores and home viewer votes they had received during last week's performance show.

"It was such an amazing experience, and people don't know this about me, but I'm really shy in a lot of ways and I think that showed on the ballroom floor," Amber said following her ouster. "I think I tried my best. And thank you so much for having me here."

Maksim added that he's "so proud" of Amber and she did "an amazing job" this season.

Amber and Maksim tied for sixth place on the judges' leaderboard last week with three other couples. They had earned 24 out of 30 points from Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Julianne Hough.

Retired NFL wide receiver Calvin Johnson Jr. and partner Lindsay Arnold were the other couple in jeopardy last night prior to Amber and Maksim's elimination, however, they were not necessarily one of the bottom-two couples based on judges' scores and America's votes.

The theme of Monday night's broadcast was "Latin Night" in which each of the remaining nine couples were tasked with performing a sexy routine. Rapper Pitbull filled in as a guest judge for regular judge Len Goodman.

Country singer Jana Kramer and partner Gleb Savchenko topped the leaderboard in first place with a perfect score of 40 out of 40 points from the judges for their Argentine tango.

Second place went to professional race car driver James Hinchcliffe and partner Sharna Burgess. The couple earned 38 points for their rumba routine.

Two couples tied for third place on the judges' leaderboard at 37 points: Calvin and Lindsay as well as Olympic gold gymnast Laurie Hernandez and partner Val Chmerkovskiy.

Calvin and Lindsay took the stage with an Argentine tango, while Laurie and Val danced the salsa.

Actress and former The Celebrity Apprentice contestant Marilu Henner and partner Derek Hough landed in fifth place on the judges' leaderboard. The pair received 34 points for their cha cha routine.

Next in line was The Brady Bunch star Maureen McCormick and partner Artem Chigvintsev, who finished in sixth place on the leaderboard with 31 points. The couple performed a samba routine.

Right on Maureen's heels were two celebrities who tied for seventh place on the judges' leaderboard with 30 points: Little Women: LA star Terra Jole and Olympic gold swimmer and former What Would Ryan Lochte Do? star Ryan Lochte.

Terra and partner Sasha Farber danced the paso doble, while Ryan and partner Cheryl Burke performed a salsa routine.

Amber and Maksim finished the night in ninth -- and last -- place on the judges' leaderboard. The pair only received 28 points from the judges for their cha cha.
