Bret is a 42-year-old police sergeant from Dedham, MA.

He will be playing on the Takali (Gen X) Tribe when the franchise's 33rd season premieres Wednesday, September 21 at 8PM ET/PT on CBS.

Bret has been a police officer for 18 years and thinks he knows when people aren't telling the truth. A huge Survivor fan -- who has applied several times and watched every season -- is excited to play the game, however, he's not interested in lying and manipulating to get ahead, much unlike the majority of his fellow castaways.

Below is a list of 7 facts Reality TV World has compiled about Bret LaBelle:

- He would describe himself as gregarious, funny or hilarious, and caring.

- Bret is passionate about being a "Gen-Xer," someone he thinks works really hard, attended school (not just online), maybe rode the bus, takes responsibility for one's actions, appreciates old Saturday morning cartoons, knows the difference between VHS and Betamax, and doesn't spend money excessively.

- The sergeant's hobbies include going to the gym, golf, improv and bicycling.

- He believes he is most like former Survivor castaway Jonathan Penner (Cook Islands, Micronesia and Philippines) because he's funny, easygoing and under-the-radar.

- Bret can't stand couples who sit on the same side of the booth, people who talk politics and religion at Thanksgiving dinner, and bullies.

- Bret received the Human Award for Bravery from the Governor of Massachusetts for disarming a gunman in 2014.

- The castaway thinks he'll win Survivor because he is extremely likeable and great at reading people, as well as relating to many different people. Bret also says he's capable of leading people without them realizing he's the leader.
