Jinger, 22, has gotten engaged to former professional soccer player Jeremy Vuolo, People reported.

"So excited to share this news that we are now engaged," the couple told People in a statement.

"From both of us, thank you all for the countless well-wishes we've received during the courtship. We are so excited to take this next step in spending our lives together. We are so grateful for how the Lord has brought us together. It has been an incredible journey so far and we are excited about serving Christ together in the coming days."

Jinger is the younger sister of the Duggar family's most famous girls Jessa Duggar and Jill Duggar, who are now married and go by Jessa Seewald and Jill Dillard.

Vuolo, 28, proposed only one month after he and Jinger announced they were officially courting, however, the couple met in May 2015.

"I was initially friends with Ben Seewald and Jessa Seewald, and it was through them that I got to meet Jinger," Vuolo said, adding that they "had the opportunity to go on a missions trip together" afterward.

"It was there that I really saw his heart and really admired his character," Jinger explained.

According to Vuolo's website, he expressed interest in getting to know Jinger better by becoming closer to her father Jim Bob Duggar in December of last year. Now, he says he's "very excited" to go through life with his bride-to-be.

Vuolo studied at Syracuse University and played for Major League Soccer club the New York Red Bulls before pursuing ministry, People reported. He later signed with the San Antonio Scorpions in the North American Soccer League in 2014 after completing a missionary trip for relief aid in the Philippines.

Jinger and Vuolo's courtship will be documented on Counting on, a new 19 Kids & Counting spinoff that will premiere August 23 at 8PM ET/PT on TLC.
