The Bachelorette star JoJo Fletcher admits she was aware Jordan Rodgers would be competing on the show prior to the start of filming.

Even before Fletcher was announced as starring on The Bachelorette's twelfth season, she saw reports about Jordan's upcoming participation, which first began circulating in early March when Ben Higgins' third-place finisher Caila Quinn was believed to be the franchise's likely next star.

Fletcher therefore got to scope out her potential suitor ahead of time -- looks, dating history, family life, and more.

"I didn't know what to expect from him. I knew that he was cute and I knew that he had some sort of fame but it didn't really play a factor in our relationship right off the bat," Fletcher told ABC News of Jordan, who is the younger brother of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

"And Night 1, I was expecting that to be a story with Jordan, but he didn't lead with that."

In fact, Fletcher insisted that Jordan tried to separate himself from Aaron as to not be in his shadow.

"He was his own man," the Bachelorette said, "and that's something we ended up discussing as the season went on."

Jordan stood out as a clear frontrunner on the season's first episode Monday night.

The 27-year-old former pro quarterback from Chico, CA, managed to snag both the first kiss of the season from Fletcher as well as the First Impression Rose. There is a possibility, however, that Jordan only seemed to be in a league of his own because the other men were either drunk or extremely tense.

"Night 1 was so overwhelming that I didn't even know what to think!" Fletcher told ABC News. "[On] my first group date, the guys were all so much more attractive and so much more charming... I think everyone was so nervous [at first], so seeing them outside of that, it was so much better."
