In a fantastic night of performances -- which host Carson Daly described as artists singing for their lives -- Adam Levine's team member Shalyah Fearing got a standing ovation from all four coaches, as did Christina Aguilera's team member Bryan Bautista.

Shalyah belted out "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going" by Jennifer Hudson. Christina called her "fearless," saying that she accomplished no easy task with the famous song.

Pharrell Williams noted it was an absolutely amazing performance for anyone, especially a girl at the young age of 16. Adam was always impressed by Shalyah, but this time, he was overjoyed because she had a moment on the show they had been waiting for. Adam begged America to vote for Shalyah because he believes she belongs in the finale.

Bryan managed to hit all the high notes in "Hurt" by Christina. The coaches wildly cheered and applauded after his vocal performance. Adam commended him for getting in touch with his emotions and translating them through his performance. Adam said Bryan deserves respect for that. Christina also pointed out that BRyan Sh.wed a different element of himself and made her challenging song his own.

Hannah Huston, who is on Pharrell's team, also wowed the audience with "When A Man Loves A Woman" by Percy Sledge.

Adam admitted she's been taken for granted in the competition because she's so consistent and has had a steady build from the beginning. Adam called her a "stealth assassin," potentially sneaking her way into next week's finals.

Blake Shelton agreed it was the perfect time for Hannah to "pull out a card like that" and the performance could be her ticket to the finale. Pharrell added that Hannah deserves to stay on The Voice because the pre-school teacher always gives her best.

The competition was fierce, as all of the other contestants also delivered excellent vocals.

Alisan Porter sang "Desperado" by the Eagles, and Adam noted she can sing anything because she seems to connect with every song. Her coach Christina was "speechless" and "bursting with pride." Christina admired Alisan for her gift and talent, saying it was an "epic" performance.

Adam Wakefield got all the male coaches on their feet with his rendition on the piano of "I'm Sorry" by Blake. Pharrell complimented his "super clean runs, soul and accuracy." Adam said a pin drop could be heard in the room because the audience was so moved. Blake even confessed he'd be embarrassed to sing that song again after hearing Wakefield.

Mary Sarah performed "I Told You So" by Randy Travis. Christina explained how Mary Sarah has become a woman on this show since she has grown so much. Blake said his team member achieved "pure, solid, phenomenal country music."

Laith Al-Saadi took the stage with "One and Only" by Adele. His coach Adam told the audience that Laith always stays true to who he is and the competition would be honored to have someone like him in the finals since he's so different.

Paxton Ingram belted out "I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)" by Meatloaf. His coach Blake admitted he's never been more proud of any artist he's ever worked with on the show because Paxton works harder than anyone.

In addition, each artist performed a duet with a fellow contestant, however, the performances did not receive any judges' feedback.

On The Voice's Tuesday night results show, eight artists will become four heading into next week's finals.
