Kris Jenner is still processing ex-husband Bruce Jenner's transgender transition into Caitlyn Jenner, but their relationship is growing "little by little" via baby steps in the right direction.

Although Caitlyn has insisted Kris was aware of her tendencies to dress and look like a woman while they were married and he was still living as a man, Kris told Harper's Bazaar in its March issue, which hits shelves February 16, she truly had no idea.

Kris said she learned about the former Olympian's desire to become a woman "the same time as everybody," which would've been in July of last year when Caitlyn introduced her new identity to the world through a beautiful spread in Vanity Fair magazine.

Despite the fact Caitlyn recently said she was on hormones and had her "boobs removed" when she was dating Kris, the Kardashian momager told Harper's Bazaar, "We were already divorced. And what are you going to do? You have to just be there. And you have to accept that everyone is going to have something."

Kris continued, "I think at some point, although it was difficult and, uh, a challenge... I just have to let it go. And try to be tolerant [through] prayer. God. You know, just trying to understand. It takes time. But time is a wonderful healer. And we have two children together. It's important for my kids to see our family strong and united."

Kris and Caitlyn had Kylie Jenner and Kendall Jenner together, who joined their children from previous marriages.

"I never really thought about [what it meant to be transgender] before," Kris explained. "And I'd never known anyone who was transgender. I didn't even know what the word meant. Because there's transgender and transsexual, and there's... I mean, I just didn't know much about it. I definitely got a big education."

Kris couldn't help but question the validity of her marriage since Caitlyn clearly wanted to be a woman for quite some time. Caitlyn had even tried cross-dressing as a young boy.

"I just doubted the relationship. You know, 'What were those 20-plus years all about?' And I felt like, at some point anybody would feel like, 'Wow, why was I put through this? For 20 years I could have been, you know, doing something else,'" Kris confessed. "But I really do believe everything happens for a reason."

In fact, Kris owned up to the fact she wished her late husband Robert Kardashian was still around to help her through all of this. She'd love having a shoulder to lean or even cry on.

"I had a wonderful, beautiful life with Robert. He was just an amazing man," Kris told the magazine. "I always wish I could call Robert right now. That's an everyday thing."

Kris is currently dating Corey Gamble and expressed how she's not the least bit phased by haters or negativity. She called people who criticize her family bitter, jealous and angry.
