The Bachelor franchise's new star, Ben Higgins, sought advice from America's favorite Bachelor -- the one and only Sean Lowe.

In preparation for his upcoming televised stint, Higgins asked for some words of wisdom from Lowe, who starred on The Bachelor's seventeenth season and is still married to Catherine Giudici whom he picked at the end of his experience in 2012.

"I reached out to Sean Lowe and asked him for advice," Higgins told People. "Years ago, I watched his season, and I had a lot of respect for how he handled himself, as a man, as a man of faith and as a man who stood for something."

Lowe apparently gushed about his time on the show during his conversation with Higgins.

"[He] obviously has great things to say about his experience because he found his wife through it," said Higgins, 26. "But he was also very encouraging in a sense of staying true, being a man who treats women fairly and with honor."

Lowe's advice to the software salesman from Kaitlyn Bristowe's season of The Bachelorette was pretty general but deep.

"Stay true to yourself, stay true to the man you are and who you want to be," Higgins recalled Lowe saying.

When Higgins was first announced as the new Bachelor, Lowe, 31, posted his thoughts on his Patheos blog.

"I think Ben will be an excellent Bachelor, and I genuinely feel myself rooting for his success. Ben reminds me of myself back when I was gearing up for the show. It's a scary feeling not knowing what's coming your way and not knowing how to handle it all. But I think Ben will be just fine," Lowe explained.

"I think his sincerity and wit will appeal to Bachelor Nation and I'm guessing it will appeal to the women too. So I'm definitely in Ben's corner and I can't wait to see where this crazy ride takes him. Here's to hoping he's as lucky as I was and finds a woman who will flip his world upside down!"
