Bobby Brown wasn't really thinking things through when he addressed a huge crowd at a Dallas concert saying his daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown is "awake" and "watching" him.

"Due to the numerous requests for an elaboration of the comments made by Bobby Brown on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at his concert in Texas, there is a need to clarify the reports on the condition of Bobbi Kristina," Bobby's lawyer Christopher Brown of Brown & Rosen LLC told Us Weekly in a statement.

Christopher confirmed that Bobbi Kristina is definitely awake, however, her long-term prognosis is unclear.

"Bobbi Kristina's condition has changed since moving from Emory University Hospital and there has been improvement," the lawyer said. "Doctors have indicated that she will have a long life. However, Bobbi Kristina is presently embarking on a rehabilitation process and the quality of her life will not be known for years to come."

Bobby, 46, was in "an emotional state" when he made those comments, according to his wife Alicia Etheredge-Brown, who is currently expecting his child.

"My husband made an attempt to correct the negative comments he must endure on a daily basis from both family and the public regarding his daughter's medical condition," Alicia told Us on Monday. "He is encouraged by the steps that Bobbi Kristina has made since her hospitalization on January 31, 2015. She has made it out of ICU, opened her eyes, and started a rehabilitation that will be long and hard."

After Bobby made that announcement about Bobbi Kristina's progress, his sister Tina Brown took to Facebook on Sunday and further complicated the situation by saying the 22-year-old singer is "no longer on life support" and "going to be ok."

Alicia noted her family is holding on to all of God's blessings that will help Bobbi Kristina at this time.

"We look forward to her having a relationship with her unborn sister as our family grows in love and faith. I just wish my husband could deal with this most painful and difficult time with people surrounding him who fully support and pray for Bobbi Kristina's recovery and only her recovery. Life is the most precious thing that we all have," she told Us.

Bobby also said on Monday he wants to "thank everyone" for their support and God is hearing the prayers.

The last reported change in Bobbi Kristina's state was in February when she had been taken out of her medically induced coma only to suffer violent seizures. She was later placed back in the coma and an insider called it "a horrible setback" at the time.

Bobbi Kristina was first found face-down and unresponsive on January 31 in the bathtub of the home she had shared with boyfriend Nick Gordon, who has since been at the center of a criminal investigation and is currently in rehab for substance abuse and depression.
