Greg Plitt was reportedly killed when he tripped and fell while trying to outrun an oncoming train.

According to sources close to him, Plitt had exercised near train tracks numerous times before. He fell while filming a commercial for his website and reportedly could not get up and off the tracks in time to avoid getting hit by the speeding train. He was accompanied at the time by two crew members.
Plitt's official cause of death is multiple blunt force trauma, according to the website, and suicide has been ruled out.
"It was just a freaky moment where something got out of control," Warren Coulter, a friend of Plitt's for 15 years, told The Associated Press. "No question of it, it was just a mistake."
"The tracks are for one thing -- trains," Metrolink spokesman Scott Johnson reportedly said Monday of the Los Angeles-region commuter train system.
Burbank police Sgt. Scott Meadows told The AP that witnesses observed Plitt standing on the track and ignoring the train's blaring horn. He might've thought the oncoming train was on a nearby parallel track.
"It's like a blind turn," Meadows said. "When the train came, you might not be able to tell which set the train is on."
Coulter said Plitt, a former West Point graduate and Army Ranger, was always looking for his next thrill and had jumped out of planes at least 1,000 times in his life.
"Everything Greg did, he did extremely well," the friend said. "This isn't anyone who ever took a nap."
Plitt's girlfriend Christina Stejskal reportedly told the Los Angeles Times her "Superman-like" boyfriend was always "just trying to get the best shot" and pushed things "to the limit."
In addition to having starred on Bravo's Work Out, Plitt was also set to appear on the new reality show Friends to Lovers, which premiered January 12 on the network. He died at the young age of 37.
