When Dancing with the Stars returns for its milestone twentieth season this March, Hough won't be a part of the cast, People reported.

Hough, 29, won't be participating in the reality dancing competition's spring installment in order to play the male lead in New York Spring Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall.

"I am ecstatic that I'll be able to extend my passion for performing to the Great Stage of Radio City Music Hall in New York Spring Spectacular," the pro dancer told People. "Performing at Radio City Music Hall in a show that celebrates everything that is beloved about New York City is a dream. I can't wait to show fans this production... it's going to be like nothing they've seen me in before."

Hough's new gig will run from the middle of March to the first week in May -- ultimately lasting for seven weeks -- and will put him in good company. According to the magazine, he'll be working with big names such as Whoopi Goldberg, Bella Thorne, Donald Trump, Martha Stewart, and Henrik Lundqvist.

Hough will be playing Jack, a man on a mission who will receive an eternal reward if he successfully helps a man named Bernie keep his job as a New York City tour guide.

In addition to Hough, pro dancer Cheryl Burke will also be absent from Dancing with the Stars' twentieth season. Instead, Burke will be starring in a new NBC reality series.

Hough announced in January 2011 he'd be skipping out on Dancing with the Stars' twelfth edition to pursue his film career by co-starring in a dance-themed movie Cobu 3-D. Before returning for Season 13, he admitted his short leave of absence refreshed his competitive spirit.
