Kesha is suing her longtime music producer Lukasz "Dr. Luke" Gottwald for a decade of alleged sexual, physical, verbal and emotional abuse.

"This lawsuit is a wholehearted effort by Kesha to regain control of her music career and her personal freedom after suffering for ten years as a victim of mental manipulation, emotional abuse and an instance of sexual assault at the hands of Dr. Luke," Kesha's lawyer Mark Geragos said in a statement obtained by TMZ.
"The facts presented in our lawsuit paint a picture of a man who is controlling and willing to commit horrible acts of abuse in an attempt to intimidate an impressionable, talented, young female artist into submission for his personal gain. Kesha is focused on moving her life and her career beyond this terrible time."
Kesha is reportedly asking the judge to release her from her contract with Dr. Luke following years of repeated sexual passes and moments in which he'd allegedly force her to do drugs and drink alcohol in order to more easily take advantage of the pop singer.
Dr. Luke allegedly made Kesha "snort something" before throwing himself at her on a plane and also gave her "sober pills" to take after a night of drinking, which resulted in her waking up naked in the record producer's bed "sore, sick... and with no memory of how she got there," according to TMZ.
Kesha insists she once ran down a highway and escaped into the mountains after Dr. Luke reportedly attacked her in his Malibu home by "violently thrashing his arms at her." She also attributes much of her past struggle with eating disorders to his influence.
Dr. Luke allegedly snapped insults along the lines of, "You are not that pretty, you are not that talented, you are just lucky to have me," the website reported, adding that he dubbed her "a fat f-cking refrigerator."
In January, Kesha checked herself into rehab.
The reality TV star's mother, Pebe Sebert, told People at the time: "Dr. Luke had been telling her how she had to get in shape and lose weight and all this stuff. She was exercising and dieting and ultimately doing everything she could, but not getting thin fast enough. And that's when she first became bulimic."
Dr. Luke, who reportedly declined comment, inked a deal to judge Idol's most recent edition but it fell through due to a record label conflict.
