Dancing with the Stars ousted Tavis Smiley and his professional dance partner Sharna Burgess during Tuesday night's live nineteenth-season results show on ABC.

The late-night talk show host and Sharna became the second couple eliminated from the competition based on the combination of the Dancing with the Stars judges' scores they had received during Monday night's performance show and the home viewer votes that were cast immediately following that episode.

"I do not live a life of regrets, No. 1," Tavis said following his ouster.

"No. 2, the art of dance I absolutely love. But like anything in life, it takes time to perfect it. And if you're on a book tour and you only have eight or 10 hours to do it -- I don't care what it is -- you have to spend time at your vocation perfecting. So, it's been a wonderful experience and I wish everybody all the best. I love them all."

Professional race car driver Michael Wal Trip and partner Emma Slater were the other couple still in danger of elimination prior to Tavis and Sharna's ouster, however, they were not necessarily one of the bottom-two couples based on the judges' scores and America's vote.

Monday night's performance show featured each of the remaining 12 celebrity and professional pairings taking the stage once, dancing to each celebrity's favorite song for show judges Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Julianne Hough.

Tavis and Sharna had finished in a four-way tie for eighth place with 28 points after dancing the cha cha.

Michael and Emma had landed in twelfth -- and last -- place on the leaderboard with 24 points following their samba performance.
