Derek Hough definitely appears to be proud of his sister Julianne Hough for landing her new position as a regular judge on Dancing with the Stars.

"He texted me today just to say, 'Hey, congrats babe! Saw that it's all out now...'" Julianne, 26, told People of Derek's reaction to the news.

Julianne will officially be sitting on Dancing with the Stars' judging panel next to mainstay judges Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli. Meanwhile, Derek, 29, serves as a professional dancer on the series and has officially signed up to compete on Season 19.

When Julianne was asked whether Derek cracked any jokes about getting critiqued by her or seemed nervous about having a family member on the upcoming panel, she said with a laugh, "Honestly, no!"

"It's all supportive. It's all in good fun," Julianne told the magazine. "At the end of the day, we're all pretty lucky we get to do the show. It's not a have-to or a super competitive thing where it's life or death. This is fun."

And Derek apparently isn't the only person who has gotten behind the two-time Dancing with the Stars champion.

"The support has been amazing," added Julianne, who has served as a guest judge on the show twice before.

"Obviously, the people who have followed me from day one have been supportive from day one. I'm just really excited. I feel like this is a fun opportunity for me to pursue what I want to do, which is acting and singing."

Dancing with the Stars' nineteenth season is set to premiere on Monday, September 15 at 8PM ET/PT on ABC.
