NBC announced today that “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy,” Bravo’s critically acclaimed original series, will make its second consecutive appearance on NBC on Thursday, August 21 10-11 PM ET.

In the hour-long episode - which airs on Bravo tonight (August 19, 9-10 PM ET) - the “Fab Five” square off against the law when the stylized quintet lend their makeover talents to straight guy and Staten Island police officer John Verdi.

Queer Eye” has been a colossal hit for Bravo, scoring the network’s six highest totals ever among adult 25-54 viewers with its six first-run telecasts to date. The network’s record total of 2.1 million was achieved with the July 29 edition. That telecast also holds the Bravo record for overall total viewers of 2.8 million persons. In its first NBC telecast July 24, “Queer Eye” averaged an impressive 3.3 rating, 10 share among adults 18-49 and 6.9 million viewers overall. Reliable results for the second NBC telecast Aug. 14 are not yet available from Nielsen Media Research.

Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” follows the makeover exploits of the “Fab Five” - Ted Allen, Kyan Douglas, Thom Filicia, Carson Kressley and Jai Rodriguez - a team of gay men, all experts in their respective fields of food and wine, grooming, interior design, fashion and culture. Their weekly mission: employ all the tools of their trade to cultivate a better straight man.

Queer Eye” is produced by Scout Productions. The executive producers are David Collins and Michael Williams for Scout, and Frances Berwick, Amy Introcaso-Davis and Christian Barcellos for Bravo.

The co-executive producer is David Metzler. The series was created by David Collins, a gay man, and developed by David Metzler, a straight man - a union of sensibilities that gives the show its depth, humor and edge.
