The CW has announced it has ordered Shedding for the Wedding, a new The Biggest Loser-like reality competition series that will follow 10 overweight couples as they attempt to lose the unwanted weight and also win a dream wedding.

Similar to NBC's The Biggest Loser, the contestants will all live together during the three-month competition and each Shedding for the Wedding episode will feature a physical challenge that will give them a chance to win wedding-themed prizes such as invitations, cake and rings.

In addition, the couples will work with trainers and nutritionists as well as meet with wedding planners who will help them organize their big day.

Each episode will conclude with the couples participating in a weigh-in, and the one that loses the least amount of combined weight for that week will be eliminated. The last couple standing will win a "fantasy wedding that America will attend," according to The CW.

Shedding for the Wedding is being produced by Raquel Productions Inc. and executive produced by Dave Broome -- who also serves as an executive producer on The Biggest Loser -- and former Pimp My Ride producer Rick Hurvitz.

Shedding for the Wedding is currently slated to premiere as part of the network's midseason schedule.  The CW began developing the series in March under the working title of Shed to Wed.

In addition to Shedding for the Wedding, The CW also announced that it will air Plain Jane -- a new reality series that will attempt to transform women both on the inside and out with the help of British fashion expert Louise Roe -- this summer.

"We're excited about two new reality series coming to The CW," network president Dawn Ostroff said.
