CBS has announced that The Cut, its new The Apprentice-like reality series that features fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger starring in the Donald Trump role, will move to Wednesdays at 8PM ET/PT beginning Wednesday, July 6.

With the sixth edition of the network's long-running Big Brother series scheduled to premiere on Thursday, July 7 and occupy The Cut's previous Thursdays at 8PM ET/PT time period for the duration of the summer, The Cut's departure from the time period had been previously announced -- the only new information in CBS's announcement is with regard to where the program will now air.

Although heavily promoted by the network, The Cut has delivered disappointing ratings numbers in its four initial Thursday evening broadcasts. Despite launching with a 90-minute premiere on June 9, The Cut failed to generate much interest with viewers, averaging 6.59 million viewers and a 4.9/9 household rating/share during its 8:00-9:30PM ET/PT debut.

Unfortunately for CBS, The Cut's unimpressive premiere numbers have also continued to rank as the series' ratings highs. The Cut's June 16 second broadcast drew only 5.26 million viewers and a 3.8/7 households rating/share, and from there things only appear to have gotten even worse, with its third and fourth episodes performing so poorly (only 4.7 million viewers each) that CBS hasn't even bothered to cite the show's performances in its weekly ratings press releases.
