Looking to cash in on the popularity of NBC's hit Donald Trump The Apprentice series, MTV has announced plans for its own The Assistant reality series.

Targeted toward "aspiring filmmakers, agents, publicists, movie moguls and studio heads," the network is looking for men and women between ages 18 and 24 who have a serious drive and passion to work in the entertainment industry in a behind-the-scenes role.

Noting that "Hollywood is not a town for the weak-willed or faint of heart," the series will feature ten wannabe Hollywood professionals competing for a "once-in-a-lifetime opportunity" to be an assistant for an as-of-yet unnamed "major" Hollywood celebrity.

If interested, act quick, because all submissions must be postmarked no later than Monday, March 22, 2004. A copy of the application can be obtained by clicking here or visiting http://castingcall.mtv.com.
