Credit Bachelor Bob Guiney with helping NBC's Friends accomplish what it hadn't been able to do alone during the November sweeps period -- top Survivor: Pearl Islands as the time slot's most watched program.

According to Nielsen preliminary affiliate based ratings for November 20, Survivor: Pearl Islands took a significant ratings hit from ABC's special The Bachelor: After The Final Rose episode that aired in the time slot, dropping over 2 million viewers from the previous week's biggest audience of the season, and finishing in second place behind NBC's Friends in the highly competitive 8PM ET/PT time slot.

Survivor: Pearl Islands was second in households (11.5/18), viewers (19.76 million, down from the previous week's 22.10 million), Adults 25-54 (8.7/21) and Adults 18-49 (7.0/19). Survivor was up at 8:30PM: +14% in households (12.2/18 from 10.7/17), +19% in Adults 25-54 (9.4/22 from 7.9/20), +22% in Adults 18-49 (7.7/20 from 6.3/18) and added +2.57m viewers (21.04m from 18.47m) from its 8:00 PM delivery. Survivor won the 8:30PM time period in total viewers and Adults 25-54

The ratings performance was Survivor's lowest since the mid-October fifth episode of the series that aired versus FOX's telecast of the Game 7 of the dramatic Red Sox/Yankees American League Championship Series drew 19.35 million viewers.

ABC's The Bachelor: After The Final Rose special attracted an average audience of 9.2 million viewers and delivered a 3.2 rating, 9 share among Adults 18-49, well above the 7.5 million viewers and 2.0/5 rating/share that the network's Threat Matrix freshman drama drew in the time slot during the previous week.
