The 36-year-old actress voiced interest in the NBC weight-loss reality competition while discussing her weight loss plans in an interview with Marie Claire.

"I do want to lose weight, but not because anyone is telling me to do it," Metz said. "[My goal is] to be proportioned. I carry a lot of weight in my stomach. I just want to have ... not even a number, but to have my body in a different shape."

"I would love to go on 'The Biggest Loser,' where it's a concentrated thing," she added.

"My father is a big guy; he's had a quadruple bypass surgery, and that's scary. Those are real things that happen in families with overweight people, and I don't want that."

Metz plays Kate Pearson, a personal assistant struggling to lose weight, on the NBC drama "This is Us."

She denied she's required to shed a certain amount of pounds for the show, which will air its Season 1 finale March 14.

"Nothing is mandated. It's not like, 'If you sign this contract you have to do this.' We haven't even talked about an actual number with Kate. Ever," the star asserted.

The "This is Us" star previously denied she will undergo gastric bypass surgery, which Kate considered on the series.

She told People in February that she wants "to have a fit, healthy body," but has ruled out surgery at this time.
