The 37-year-old Maroon 5 singer and "The Voice" coach updated fans on Thursday's broadcast of "On Air with Ryan Seacrest" after welcoming daughter Dusty Rose with wife Behati Prinsloo in September.

"I like to think that parenting is something that we were literally put on this earth to do," Levine said.

"I've been a parent for three weeks; what do I know? I don't know anything, but it's kind of part of the beauty of it, honestly."

"There are a lot of instincts and a lot of things that kind of kick in and switch on," he revealed.

"It's a beautiful experience. You can say a lot of things about why we're here ... but I will say that one of the verifiable facts is that we are here to procreate."

Levine and Prinsloo married in 2014 and announced in March that they were expecting their first child.

The singer admitted on "Live! with Kelly and Michael" the next month that he hadn't done much preparation for the baby's birth.

"We're just gonna jump in and just try to figure it out," he said.

"I'm really not [nervous]. I'll probably be a lot more freaked out when I see the baby and I'm like, 'Oh, there's a baby now!'"

Levine last released the album V with Maroon 5 in 2014.

He, Blake Shelton, Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys presently serve as coaches on Season 11 of the NBC reality competition "The Voice."
