The 30-year-old former "The Girls Next Door" star and wife to Playboy founder Hugh Hefner showed off her new physique Wednesday on Instagram after revealing she removed her implants due to troubling side effects.

"The new me. Happier and healthier. Using 2016 to reclaim my health and love myself for the real me. Thank you for the overwhelming support on my post yesterday, I love you," she captioned a photo of herself in an American flag bikini.

Hefner had penned an essay Tuesday entitled "My Breast Implants Slowly Poisoned Me."

The model said her implants caused such symptoms as intolerance to food and beverages, constant neck and shoulder pain and recurring infections.

"Over time, implants (both silicone and saline) break down and wreak havoc on your body," she wrote.

"The shell on silicone and saline implants is comprised over silicone and over 40 other toxic chemicals ... Your immune system is constantly fighting them, leaving you vulnerable to other illnesses."

"The mildest of [my] symptoms started a few years back," the model said. "I began to cancel appointments and shoots because everything exhausted me ... I've had days in 2016 when I couldn't get out of bed."

Hefner attributed her symptoms to "Breast Implant Illness" and said she "instantly" started feeling better once her implants were removed. She expressed concern for her "many" friends with implants, saying, "I hope that they, and everyone, can benefit from what I have experienced."
