Jennifer Lopez doesn't think she deserves her diva reputation.

The 46-year-old singer and former "American Idol" judge asserted as much in a roundtable for The Hollywood Reporter while discussing the label with Kerry Washington, Sarah Paulson, Julianna Margulies and other female celebrities.

"I've always been fascinated by how much more well-behaved we have to be than men," Lopez said before explaining, "I got a moniker of being 'the diva,' which I never felt I deserved -- which I don't deserve -- because I've always been a hard worker, on time, doing what I'm supposed to do."

"I was always fascinated by how I could see [a man] being late or being belligerent to a crew and it being totally acceptable; meanwhile, I'd show up 15 minutes late and be berated. You watch this happen over and over and over again," she elaborated.

Lopez blamed her reputation on a sexist response to "a certain amount of success" as a woman. She admitted she sometimes feels "crippled to voice her opinion" when working with men because of the way her input is interpreted.

"Like, we're not allowed to have certain opinions or even be passionate about something, or they'll be like, 'God, she's really difficult,'" the star revealed. "It's like, 'Am I? Am I difficult because I care?'"

Lopez previously denied diva behavior in an interview with BigBoyTV. The singer acknowledged there's been "so many" rumors about her supposed demands, including that she wants everything in her surroundings to be white.

"Crazy things like that, like I won't enter a room or look at people or talk to people [if everything isn't white], those are the ones I hate because it makes you sound like a crazy person," she confessed.
