The 46-year-old actress addressed the 65-year-old "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star's reported change at the 2015 Writers Guild of America Awards on Saturday. Arquette's sister, Alexis Arquette, is transgender, and the star called for greater acceptance of the trans community.

"It's time for us all to stand up and support her in this transition if this is what she wants to do," she said of Jenner to Access Hollywood. "It's very powerful to live your life in your truth and it's very difficult in this world to do that."

"It doesn't hurt anybody, so I don't know why anyone would be offended or write about it offensively or as if it's comedic," she added. "It's a very difficult decision to come to because the world doesn't support it, so I'm here to say I do support it and I think we should all be able to be who we really are."

Arquette previously declared her support for "Mrs. Jenner" on 'The Meredith Vieira Show' last week. The actress asserted, "You have to be so brave to live this truth of who you are ... I give all my love and support to her and love and appreciate everything she's given to America."

Arquette last appeared with Ellar Coltrane and Ethan Hawke in "Boyhood," and is nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance. The film is up for a number of other honors, including Best Picture and Best Supporting Actor for Hawke.
