Cody Longo was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol in Los Angeles, police said.

Longo, 25, is the star of Nickelodeon's "Hollywood Heights." His other credits include "Days of Our Lives" and "Piranha 3D."

TMZ said police pulled over the actor after they spotted him driving erratically and flashing his high beam headlights at other motorists in Hollywood early Thursday.

Longo was arrested after he failed field sobriety tests and his blood alcohol level was found to be more than twice the legal limit, the celebrity news website said.

He was released hours later after posting $15,000 bail.

"This was an unfortunate misunderstanding," Longo's publicist told TMZ. "Cody takes it very seriously as his focus is music and acting."
