"The Sopranos" has topped the Writers Guild of America's list of the 101 Best Written TV Series.

Coming in at No. 2 on the list is "Seinfeld," followed by "The Twilight Zone" at No. 3, "All in the Family" at No. 4, "M*A*S*H" at No. 5, "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" at No. 6, "Mad Men" at No. 7, "Cheers" at No. 8, "The Wire" at No. 9 and "The West Wing" at No. 10.

"At their core, all of these wonderful series began with the words of the writers who created them and were sustained by the writers who joined their staffs or worked on individual episodes," WGA West President Chris Keyser and WGA East President Michael Winship said about the New Jersey gangster drama in a joint statement Sunday.

"This list is not only a tribute to great TV, it is a dedication to all writers who devote their hearts and minds to advancing their craft."
