The couples participating in the "World's Longest Continuous Kiss" competition, which began Tuesday, were attempting to break the record set last year by a Thai couple who kept their mouths pressed together for 50 hours, 25 minutes and 1 second, CNN reported Wednesday.
The winning couple will receive a cash prize and a diamond ring in addition to the record recognition if they manage to beat last year's winning time.
