A British city donated a mansion allegedly haunted by a choir of nuns to a group after it failed to sell at an auction.

The Portsmouth City Council said Wymering Manor failed to sell at an auction last year with a $592,987 reserve price, so the property has been donated to the Wymering Manor Trust with a $47,439 grant for repair work, The Daily Telegraph reported Friday.
The trust said it plans to fix up the mansion and open it as a tourist attraction.
The ghosts alleged to haunt the property include a choir of nuns, whispering children and Sir Roderick of Porchester, who was slain on the grounds during the middle ages.
The house is believed to be the oldest in Portsmouth and was mentioned in the 1086 Doomsday book.
