Navahcia Edwards was convicted on bank robbery and conspiracy charges Wednesday after she and former boyfriend Lyndon Germel Wesley robbed the TCF Bank in Palos Heights, where Edwards used to work, of $120,000 in cash in May 2011, the Chicago Tribune reported Thursday.
Wesley, testifying for the prosecution, said the nun masks the pair wore during the robbery were inspired by a similar crime from the film "The Town."
Prosecutors said Edwards robbed the bank in an effort to repay $20,000 she had embezzled from another bank where she had worked.
